My grandfather owned a gas station from from the late fifties to the late sixties. He gave my uncle a '56 Chevy to race at Englishtown. They painted the car black and named the car "Rod Buster". I wish I could find some pictures of it...anybody out there have one ? It ran with numerous engine combos from small blocks, big blocks, 409's etc...owning a gas station and scrapping cars gave them alot hardware to work with.

No one mentioned Arnie 'the Farmer' Bestwick's the Tameless Tiger.

I think every track had a station wagon named Grocery Getter.

Here locally when I was just out of HS, there was a late model T/A named Pac-Man. Ironically, it ended up hitting a wall. there was also an altered bucket named Witch's Brew that ran for much of the mid to late 70's and into the early 80's.

Jet cars always had interesting names like Les Shockly's ShockWave,

  15. Don't know if it was mentioned, but my wife and I always got a kick out of "Home Wrecker III". I figure if my roadster was a race car, it would aptly be named "Bone of Contention"-haha!!!

dont have any pics because the car isnt finished . I had 2 ideas for my 55

Because a tree had to be cut down that was growing up through the engine bay of the car and had wedged itself between the frame and the front fire wall brace , i was gonna name it " Stump Jumper " still got the section of tree i cut out that perfectly molded itself to the frame and firewall lol.

Second choice was going to be named after the CCR song " Run Through The Jungle"

    Have not decided yet.
