In all honesty the swap meet is kinda small, but you're close by and all it takes is one interested party in your stuff.

  2. Saw my first prostitute in Geneva-on-the-Lake....there was just something about her that I really liked, it was the fishnets and a pushup I think.....bouncing back and forth between Annies and Happy Daze, if you know what I mean.

Now I go there with wife and daughter to get a footlong chili dog from Eddies Grille

Well I guess for the price of a space, I'll give it a try.

Everybody that is going, stop by the swap meet and see
    what everybody's pedalin'!

There is an attempt being made to get a N/SS Eliminator going for the Gasser Reunion. Anyone have any ideas on cars that may be available?

Bob, They're doing a 409 Shootout at the Gasser Reunion. It looks like there will be at least twenty four 409 powered race cars coming. A few are Gassers but most are N/SS Belair's and Impala's. Many of the regular 409 racers from the North East will be there but there will also be cars coming from the Mid West and the Southern States.
There will also be some 348 and 409 cars coming to park in the car show area. It looks like one of the rare factory lightweight Z-11 Impala's will be there too.

I'm aware of that, and if the bracket is established, I'm guessing that some of them will run the N/SS eliminator too. Right now we're trying to recruit all the cars possible.

I've just been invited to attend , take many pictures, and write an article for Gasser magazine. Looking forward to this.

Rocky, I'm leaving the 33 at home, though the picture would be cool. See you in a couple of weeks.

No not at all this year, I am taking the Falcon to Thompson this year instead of the altered. Might try to run with them later in the summer, seems to be always somthing going on the weekends they are running.
Did you make any changes to the Willys this year? I will stop in and see you when we get settled in on Friday morning.

No changes. It's still very slow...

    ...and still very consistent.

I am the current caretaker of the Mid-America Willys Club banner. It was retired last year after the Thompson race due to wind damage. I restored it. I am inviting all participants to stop by my trailer and sign it, something like this:

    Owner and/or Driver name
    Car and Class

It ain't Pomona but there's good stuff there every year. Love the barn finds and looking under piles of parts for goodies I didn't even know I wanted.

I just looked at the Thompson web site and saw a note about no tent camping. That was my plan, is that a hard and fast rule?

You maybe able to email Jim Curtis {track mgr.} from Thompson website and inquire, or call the number listed on their site.

or just put your tent in the back of your truck and call it a camper

Jim's a nice guy...no tellin what he may let happen

We should be at Thompson around 4:00pm on Friday. Bernie's bringing the Falcon wagon to race. We'll keep an eye out for you.

  25. There are always a couple tents by us...As long as your racing, I don't think you will have a problem...

Been down for a while, Will attend this year (got my blower parts!), what ever happened to that ratty crap coupe that hit the wall a couple years ago? was it rebuilt into something nice?

Also I recall plenty of tents in the pits.

    Regards,

Did I read it right that its 60 bucks for me to take my old truck into the show?
Is that weekend $ or even for just sat alone?

I was gonna drive my 60, but current job status says I may have to pass at that kind of dough.

Yep, $60...all for me...none for you...typical greed..."come pay to blow your parts up on our extra special race track". I considered coming out and giving the crowd something exciting to talk about, maybe a good AA/GS match race? but when I found out the AA/GS program was 1/8 mile on a 1/4 mile track???, huh? (1/8 mile is how you make weak running cars look respectable) with unclear rules, a crappy payout, and 2 qualifying passes no matter how many cars showed up, huh? I said well, after all these years they still don't have a clear racing program together. Jr. Thompson and I laughed about that five years ago. Nothing's changed. Just come and spend your money and leave...Whatever...not this boy...I can't be part of anything so ridiculous... They are just trying to milk the whole nostalgia deal. What kinda pisses me off is that now it is on a dead man's bones, my friend Chuck Finders who just died. See Here They wouldn't piss on Chuck if he was on fire when he was alive, now that he's dead they want to give him a nice memorial service...at 60 bucks a head...screw them, screw that lousy track, freakin' parasites, hope they never call me for a booked appearance or a genuine AA/GS race. The answer is NO NO NO on principle. Seems ironic that the same dirt bags that wouldn't give Chuck (who lived in poverty) a lousy $500 to appear at their event, with his recreated Traveler 33 Willys, now want to capitalize on his death. Sorry for the rant, but he was a good friend and that's just not right!!! Here is a picture of me and him working on my '33 chassis. RIP Chuck... I hope those that do show up have a good time, I'll be sitting this one out.
