Im looking to buy a 57 chevy 150 or 210 sedan for a jr. stocker build. I have a 283/4 speed set up ready to go. Ive been collecting parts for this build for a while. Now all I need is a car! Any one know where the best place To find a decent car? No total rot boxes that ive been finding here on the east coast.

junior stock,present day fellow from canada runs a 61 bubble top in todays nhra c stock. went 11.06 at mission,bc and he is still sorting out the car. she's real fine my 409 very cool

My apologies to those who have seen this photo posted before. It is still hard for me to believe that I owned both of these cars and never raced either. President Johnson send me "Greetings and salutations" in Nov. 1965 before I had a chance to do anything with my '55 Bel Air that would become the Witchcraft. In 1971 I bought the '55 Sedan Delivery (body & Hydro) from the Wheatley's and installed a 327 for street use. In the glove box was an envelope addressed to Buck from NHRA that contained his official entry letter to the 1969 US Nationals. It is still around here somewhere and I hope to find it soon.
Don't feel too sorry for the 'runner up,' as Wally Nisson's second-place take was $3,194.98 in today's buck$! George Cureton pocketed over $19K in inflation-adjusted '09 US Dollars!
What I like, is what he's done to make the 55-64 rear ends stay together. Who needs a 9 inch? He runs a stock, but modified, rear end in his drag car. In the video clip, be sure and look at the second gear "scratch". Butch/56sedandelivery.

If you don't mind me answering, nope, at 69 years young he's running a Chevelle wagon now. The mash car pictured above is alive and kicking somewhere in Illinois. The monster mash 2 car as it was labelled (their were actually 3 cars) was destroyed in a towing accident. Contrary to the old myth, Bill Jenkins did not have the car crushed.

Just the same, you really have to wonder what the the value of the (correctly restored) orginal MM car would be given the (1.2 Million) sum realized @ *auction of the T-K Chevelle. *See my post # 1135 . Given a proper renewal George Cureton's old delivery would also be an interesting car to to ponder a value. See ...
How about this for a hypothetical situation:Suppose , in a show of support for the Stocker guys ,the NHRA lifted the (absurd) "15 year rule" after all these years. Would these cars still be competitive given the advantages of some of the later Stockers? How many of the actual old cars could be tucked away like the Monster Mash and George's old Delivery? Could it be 50 nationwide or more? Comments please......
I've been wondering the same thing. That Chevelle that sold brought $600,000 more than another (stock, no racing history) LS6 conv that sold at the same auction. Now that we're half way through the restoration of the "In-Bomber" it's been coming up more and more what it's value may be completed. I can say that it hasn't been cheap to do a ground up on a car that saw sun and rain every day for 35 years! The "Monster Mash" '55 though has to be one of the top most famous jr. stockers of all time though, so who knows where it could go. -Dean
I remember being in the staging lanes at Maple Grove on a Saturday night in 1969 and watching the Monster Mash 55 beat a Tri-Power GTO Pure Stocker during time trials. Sure was glad I didn't draw him in my Pure Stock Camaro. If he's still running that Chevelle wagon, he must have over 25 years with that car. Is that correct?
could be interesting considering that pontiac tempest (what was it a 64?) went for 260,000 some and was banged up and didn't have any goodies on it lol.At least this one starts,moves and stops! All body mounts out except the front 2 and rear 2, interior gutted save for drivers seat and dash wiring and goodies.getting ready to take it out and pressure wash the living crap out of it.Fenders suprisingly solid except the brows(mainly pass one) Doors are sweet,all 3. Could use moulding around rear door window tho it wasn't there.
