Great day. What started as riding along with a couple friends to see a Craigslist Caddy ended hours later after perusing 12 acres loaded with cars. Truly a pleasure to see this many decent projects and runners in a private enthusiast's collection. Sort of surreal as it is akin to an old wrecking yard that has long since closed - 'cept most of these cars are not missing parts nor wrecked! Rot seems at a minimum too, although several are sun burned.

Owner started putting these together in 1972. Working for a phone company enabled him to find a LOT. He's hoarded mainly and rarely sold cars off - by his own accord. Retired, he now realizes that he won't get but a small percentage back on the road. The rest should be sold off. His real work has been done already by saving them from the crusher! Even better? He's quite reasonable pricing, literally attaching prices from and Old Cars pricing guide taking an average between #5-#6 condition on most cars. (Some he's more keen on have higher prices. Recently sold one of his favorites, a very nice original running '61 Chrysler Imperial 2D for $8500, for example.) A lot will allegedly run after tinkering.

Knowing that interest here (and a few other sites) will be high, I offered to return and take notes and prices on any vehicle there is interest in. The owner thought that would be great and genuinely appreciated a helping (internet) hand. Will take considerable time but worth it in the end.

So let me know in this thread or via PM if any are interesting as those will be the first I'll ask pricing on. Tentative plans are to return next Saturday. What you see is less than 1/2 of the cars present on this property - and there is another 5 acre site I have not seen yet (mainly Buick and Pontiac).

    Enjoy!

My friends bought this running '54 today for a whopping $1500 (interior was nice too) - and a '54 2D parts car for an additional $300.

you probably don't want to say exactly where, but a general area? I mean, TX is pretty big, and a deal isn't a deal anymore for me if it's near El Paso.

Boy, he really likes the Mopars. Did you catch the dollar sign in the donkey's ear?

Yes The37Kid, most of the wood was in the back of the '50.

These are all the pics for now.

No doubt - thanks for the reminder. Forgot to mention central TX. Closest big city is Austin.

Thought that woody Buick is pretty sweet too. Imagine there is a full wood kit available?

May as well have titled the thread Hemi-O-Rama.

Some pretty straight looking project cars there.
In actuality, it sounds as if he may have done us all a favor, collecting these up over the years. Otherwise, some may have been scrapped.
