This car was still competetive in 1970 winning on the tough UDRA circuit. Used to follow its exploits via Drag News. Living in So-Cal left me few oppurtunites otherwise

interesting 'modern' logghe looking chassis, but a semi flip top steel body! pretty interesting!

I think the Safety Nazis would call that a "pinch point'.

Rich, I have two photos, but cannot find them right now. Let see what I can remember, without my notes.... The car was originally, the "Chinese Bandit" from Rhode Island. It was featured in a 1963 issue of Popular Hot Rodding. It was built by Burquist and Savage, the car had string of different owners through it's life. In the middle sixties Ed Randall from Cranston, RI. owned it and painted it yellow, added the name "Swamp Yankee" and would change it to SBC power. It would end up sitting out doors for years in Rehobeth, MA. It is still in the RI area, with a new owner and has been restored. I have not seen the restoration , but have seen a few pictures on line. It looks like they went more towards the Chinese Bandit version.
