Randaddy & I went to the Ardmore Show & Drags, it was very cool especially the early Anglia, Scorpion & Gizzel Hopper mmm the smell of nitro
I farked up and ended up going to a car show in OKC on Saturday. Shoulda went to Ardmore - the car show in the city pretty much sucked.
We had a good time. My camera / computer has decided not to cooperate and so I have no pictures to add at this time. We will now resume regular programming. Patrick There is always next time.
Any event with the Gizzle Hopper, a Steel Fiat coupe and one of my old Fiberglass Fiat's has to be a GREAT event.
I love the "Gizzle Hopper", would someone PLEASE donate some hand lettered goodness to replace the vinyl GH lettering?!
FYI, Gretchen told me this was her first ever time to actually take the Gizzle Hopper down the track. Until now, she has been in the car for start ups and the Cacklefests. Good to see the car go down the strip and see her get to drive it! Oh yeah, I got an autographed picture of her in the car! It's good to be old and harmless.
Yes, I to had a great time, I was tring to down loud pictures, but hell I'm hot smart enough to do it , Ardmore is a neat and clean track, I'll be going back in the Fall.
The Gizzle Hopper is the BEST! Got to see it @ the CHRR last October in Bakersfield. Do you have anymore of that little steel Fiat, I love that thing.
Rick I'll check and if I can figure out how to put up my pictures, I'll show what I have. I finally got the program to load.... trying to change from a PC I don't understand to a Mac which I don't understand. My Mensa membership is not helping me out here.
Randy...let me see if I have this straight, you don't understand, what you don't understand, is that your understanding? I don't understand what you are trying to say...understood? Whos on first?????
rick If I knew who was on first, I might know what was on second and I don't know about third. Right now I am so confused, I think I'll go watch some mindless blather on the TV. I appear pretty sane, at least to myself, when I see some of the stuff there. By the way, if you remember what we are really talking about, please send me a clue. I am now totally lost within the endless confines of my own mindless wanderings. Time to choose up sides and take a nap.
FYI - the back of the little Fiat says: " widdle white wabbit" . Hey it's cute and has a speech impediment.
Kiwiboy, great photos. I need lessons from you, but probably on my computer. So, when you coming back to OKC?
Thanks man, that just screams 50's & early 60's drag car to me...looks like someone saved it in a time capsule.
My pics are about like everyone elses......except fuzzy. But here's a few anyway. Also, nice putting some faces on some folks that hang out here. Larry T
Saved it hell, Buddy races that thing all the time. He's owned/raced/shown that car since the late 50's...............He's good people........
I want to say thanks to everyone that made this event happen. I can work as hard as I can and as long as I can but without the support of you, the racers, car show'ers and fans, it just doesn't work. As I said in the award ceramony you need to give yourself a pat on the back because you are the ones that made it happen. We are looking foward for to this years Hot Rod Reunion Sep. 5 and seeing all of you again. From the entire staff at Ardmore Dragway Thanks for a great turnout......Rob Ragland more photo's soon....Thanks Rob
Rob, I hated that I didn't make it, I had catch a train of some old cars coming through going to Ada, we were short on time, and we reallly needed to be there for your show. I'm spreading the gospel man, just takes time. Sept. looks good to me
HEHEHEHE - the only 'draggin' the '33 did was gettin' the Scorpion back to the pits......... But I CAN tell folks I took it down the track this weekend...... So did the little 'Dirty Princess'............
