Question for you guys who have installed an offset Ford rear differential in a 49-54 Chevy. How did you modify the driveshaft tunnel since it is not a straight shot from the tranny tailshaft to the rear differential - particularly if you dropped the suspension? I have access to an 8.8 32 spline from a Ford but the pinion is offset to the right about 2-4 inches.....

Did you widen the tunnel or what? Any pictures would be appreciated as well.

It may be one of those HUMA moments and I may regret that I did it. I have a 10 bolt that I can put in it, but didn't want to screw with changing the gears out. The Ford has the gear ratio I want, but it may be more of a pain in the arse getting it to fit by the time I rip the sheet metal out. Would like to know if anyone has done it.
