This is my good friend Bob's T roadster, figured you guys would like this car. Bob is a memeber on here, goes by "OldeBob". Maybe he'll chime in with details or what I mess up, but I'll tell you what I know. Bob was building this car way back when (50's, 60's or so) and he sold/traded it to a friend of his. Bob delivered it to the guys place, were the car was unloaded into the back of a dump truck. Years later (like 4-5years ago) Bob runs into the guy. Guy says he still has the car and Bob works out a dela to buy it back. The car was STILL in the back of that dumptruck, untouched. Bob brought it home and finished th car. He always says "I just went back to grindin the same weld I was grindin 50 years ago"! Car is on 32 rails, V8-60 axle, 226 Flathead 6 with 39 trans, quickchange, and wide 5 wheels/juice brakes. One of the most period correct cars I have seen (technicly a recent build even though it was started way back when). Runs as good as it looks. Bob painted the car by pouring paint all over it. Again, I am probably wrong on some of this, hopefully he can set me strait and tell us th whole story
Cool car, FANTASTIC story! This has made my day, thanks for sharing. Oldebob, where are you? I need the personal version.
Bob KNOWS 'old school'....what a kick in the *** ride...I'll bet the snooty gold chainers just go wild when they walk by. I like his screwdriver storage placement. Never hurts to have a 'weapon' handy.... dj
What dreams are made of,- buying back your old car untouched ! Great History & Story Pouring paint has to be right up there.. Good looking ride for 2 ! -41-
Hard to believe all those years in the back of a dump truck. Lucky guy to have been able to gert it back.
I've built that car a dozen times in my mind. Good to see it in the flesh. all of the pieces are laying around here to duplicate it, just have to get off my *** and get it done. Too many cars too little time. Frank
has a very cool look...that back carb hump looks like part of headlight bucket. and the paint is just perfect.
Does nobody else catch the 2" channel, THAT is what makes that car great, I'm going about that far on mine too, and No i aint copying you, i saw it done in an old pic of one of Phil Weiand's cars first How is the clearance on the rear crossmember to decklid anyway??
