    Just kidding.:D

Learned a lesson. Never surf in the am, then Mojave later in the day. The salt water drains out of your sinuses and extra dries your nose. I just touched it and had a massive nose bleed. I actually lost a whole lot of blood at first. I stopped the truck. Bled a huge very scary puddle of blood on the dry lake before I got the bleeding under control, then stumbled into the closest camp, Gene's camp. It took a couple of hours to want to stop bleeding.

Yeah, right. Come on Wil, cut down on the picking. The first step is to admit you have a problem. :D

This guy rocks. I was really feeling pretty bad and out of it. Very dizzy and weak.
He is a EMT and hung out with me and checked on me throughout the evening.
Super cool. Can't say thanks enough. It is not fun to have a medical problem in the desert.
And Gene was super cool as always also.

This baby did me right. She didn't miss a beat. Next time I will have to have the air conditioning hooked up.

    I didn't get that pic. :D
I was actually seriously worried at that point. It was dark, I was by myself stumbling around. Blood was coming out of my nose about like you would blow it out of a straw.

But here was almost some more blood from a couple of days ago.
Do you ever wonder right before you do something, that this is probably not a good idea.
The first time this FED has moved under it's own power since the 50's when it crashed.

We are going to get the Hilborn dialed in next.

Now that I know it stops, I am about ready for a fun ride soon.

  15. COOL PICS.. Stop by and bleed on us anytime.. you should have introduced yourself as a H.A.M.B.er.. we would have been nicer.. you were looking a little scary there for a moment.. that was one hell of a nose bleed.. it rated a 10plus on the "nasty-shit-o-meter"

I had fun. :) I am sure I looked like a crazy old desert miner stumbling out of the dark bleeding everywhere. Everyone kind of looks like that after being in the dust bowl for a bit to some degree, but hopefully without the blood.
I have known Gene for a while now, so it was nice to see a friendly face when I was a bit disoriented.

There was some kid that kept appearing and reappearing out of the desert darkness that wanted to fight me for some reason.:) He was really drunk or something. It was really bizare. No hard feelings at all, it was just a little strange / comical / kind of annoying because I didn't want to stand up and start bleeding more. It was really scary how much I bled before I stumbled into camp.

He finally said he had $1200 dollars and I could have it if I could win. I really don't really have much interest in fighting / beating people up these days ( I am a lover, not a fighter ), especially at a SCTA event.

But after about 20 miinutes of this I decided that it would be worth $1200 to knock the kid out, and asked Gene to hold and count the money. I really didn't come to El Mirage to knock people out, and had no desire to do so, but for $1200, I have diapers to buy.

But when the money was counted, Gene said it was only like $23 bucks or something the guy had, not $1,200.:(:D

Oh well, all for the best.
I would have probably stood up, punched the kid, got my $1200, then bled out from the extra excitement on the dusty lakebed.
That would have done me a lot of good.

All pretty fun and funny stuff for sure. And no hard feelings towards the kid at all, we have all gotten too drunk at one time.....

It seems like Gene has taken some troubled kids under his wing, and I applaud him for that. A gentleman and role model.

    p.s. Let's all drink a beer next time, I hopefully won't look so crazy.:D

    ## I never really thought about it until now, but maybe the kid didn't know I knew Gene and thought I was some crazy fool, I am sure I looked one.

  26. Nice pics (nose picks?) I believe you. But some sceptics might say you faked the "nosebleed" and just "happened" to stagger into Gene's camp, and then glommed onto an EMT that just "happened" to be part of the Old Crow crew. Pretty convenient!
But like I said- I believe you... scary stuff. Don't do that again!
