YEEEE HAAAAWWW! Pumped the clutch some more tonight, bled the fluid a bit more and "BANG" she released! Started right up in gear with the clutch in and didn't even try to walk. She'll be voyaging this weekend!!

Been a while for an update. Court has been busy with FFA and other school related things. Got his license in May.

This week we worked on fixing the bracket in his hood. The one side is rotted out where the hinge spring connects so we gutted a spare bondo hood to swap it. Got the rivets in but one of the bolts broke off in the center bracket. Need to drill and tap that out then we can re***emble and put it on with the latch, hinges, and springs.

Took some time and got the back gl*** in tonight. Need to put the lock strip in yet but my fingers are numb. Note: Use LOTS of warm soapy water when trying this at home!

Court and his brother, Eli, got the stainless trim in his gasket and the gasket on his windshield. We patched up some bad spots with POR Patch and sanded that down tonight. A light coat of primer on it and we'll try to put the gl*** in tomorrow after the sun has some time to flex things out.

More brackets fixed, rivets rivetted, and holes filled with stuff that needs to go in them! Hope to have the bright/dim switch mounted and the tail lights on tomorrow.

Saturday Billetproof Detroit and Court will drive it into the show. No pushing this year!

Oh yeah, exhaust downpipes bent and mufflers readied but I lost the flanges I had! Time to dig for them. Maybe I left them in my desk at work...Oh well, he'll get exhaust NEXT week...

Heck yeah! Thanks to Enjenjo for the pointers and the tools, we got the windshield and back gl*** in! Court's truck is finally closed in gl*** all the way around.

Swapped the hood and fixed the running board mount. Looking more like a truck every day. Need to make tail light mounts and get them wired up and on and she'll have some more details crossed off the list.

Just popped in the Billetproof 2008 video that I scored this weekend. Didn't watch the whole thing, just the first minute. At 39 seconds is (l-r) me, Von Rigg Fink, and Hippie6 pushing in last year with Eli in the camo T shirt following up. Court is behind the wheel.

Thanks guys, you made my day! I hope you got driving video this year!

Tail lights are working now. Bumper brackets are going together as well. Practicing my welding so I can tackle the running board mounts.

Hope to get the seat mounted next week so it leaves only seat belts and momma will be happy!

    Still progressing!

Summer went by way too fast. Court got into FFA (Future Farmers of America) and ended up doing a ton with that. Fair was busy and he got Senior Showman and Reserve Champion Showman with his piggies. Now he's back to working on his truck and a lot more school work! Looks like we're begging for Grandma's garage for 1 more winter!!

  17. wheres the progress pics dan? and congrats to court on his FFA accomplishments!:D

Not a lot has changed since summer. Been working on plumbing the exhaust. He had some starter issues and changed that today, turns out it is grounding issue so we are playing in the dark on that one. We'll get there, I promise!

The boys and I got up this morning and headed north to the Lansing area. Mike Brimm (Kustombuilder) had an S10 shortbox frame set up for an AD truck (motor/trans/rad mounts) that he wasn't using anymore as he'd gone Dakota under his truck. He also had a visor and a baby hemi mount he'd picked up at Hunnert for me. I'd been sick so hadn't gotten together with him until today. He also had an AD front axle that had the "hats" or adapters for the disc brake conversion. I swapped him for one I had that was still set up for drums.
I then headed back south to Jackson, MI 45 minutes to see jxnslotcarrcr who bought an AD from me. I dropped off the axle to him and an exhaust from a stocker so he could lay out the pipes for his 216 stovebolt. I took up some shifter parts for him as well and we swapped for a "NIB" Hurst shifter that had been sitting on his shelf since, get this 1973!! Talk about a barn find...It'll be for Court's next project, a '41 Chevy Coupe!

After we got home, we did chores, then started working on Court's seat frame. We built a base for his 88 full size seat to sit on the adjusters from his '54. Just finished welding it all up and it is in and firm. Feels really nice to finish something, even if it is cold out and we are working in the snow. It was easier to haul the welder to the truck on a sled though.

Hope to get the 47-54 4 speed shifter adapted to the 5 speed in the truck tomorrow. Adapter is done, just need to finish and run set screws.

His first project: a '51 8N basket case now used to plow our driveway, rake hay, haul wagons, and whatever it is told.

His truck: still a work in progress.

List is getting ripped into this next week or so. I've been selling parts for "shopping lists" and rather than cash, I've had the buyers just send orders into parts shops for us. Got seatbelts last week from Rich T (thanks) and a 20 pound box of stuff today from KuztomKlaus (thanks). Hope to have the door seals in and on, seatbelts installed, and a pile of other detail stuff done. Getting ready for Billetproof, Sins of Steel, and Making Junk Run.

Seatbelts are DONE. Thanks to Oldguard for the guide and help and Parr Automotive for the belts via RichT!

Been working on 49 Plymouth bumpers. Thanks to a Florida cat over on the 67-72 board for that one. Made up the mount guides tonight, off to get steel tomorrow to make the rear brackets. They WILL be on this weekend then we can mess with the '50 Chevy back up lights under the tailgate and the license plate on the bumper.

Manifold studs are repaired on the p***enger side. Driver's side tomorrow. Exhaust this week at work. Plan to take the truck up there Tuesday morning with me and knock that out Tuesday night.

Pretty much running board mounts after that. Missed Billetproof but WILL be at SOS. Sorry to hear Making Junk Run is done but we'll hit our local town show at the park during our festival in July. Maybe even the fair parade!

Worked our ***es off this weekend building rear bumper mounts and installing a '49 Plymouth rippled bumper on the rear. Now to do some work to make the front fit as well. Bed is leveled out and getting there!

Another big THANKS to Frank, aka Enjenjo, for digging in his s**** trailer this morning and coming up with just what we needed!

Well, Kenny, I hauled Court's truck to work today to do the exhaust in the shop (OEM supplier) and look what dropped in on the next stall! He's leaving for Power Tour Saturday morning, Iowa. If you see him, his name is Bill and you can tell him I said hi!

Got the left side mocked up. Right side is piled in piles. Tomorrow will be welded. Just going to dump it out in front of the rear axle for now. Sins of Steel BABY!
