Now that Tech Week has ended, I can post about my newest project.

    CLIFF NOTES
SE Texas family runs 2200 miles to NW Iowa in 3 days to get a 29 sedan
Solid project, needs alot of parts, but minimal rust repair.
A 29 Tudor with frame fits into a shortbed Dodge truck without a problem.

    The story goes like this.....

The wife and I were throwing around ideas of building a family hot rod. I showed her some different ways of building a tudor and she took a liking to what we were finding.

I looked for a few days and found a solid project here on the HAMB in March. I talked to the owner, agreed on a price and figured Memorial Day weekend was my best bet. I wanted to take the family and had to wait for school to be out for a long weekend.

We loaded up from Houston at about 8 am and headed north to NW Iowa (1100 miles according to Google) on Saturday morning. We made it to Council Bluffs, IA just before 8 pm. We got up Sunday am and drove the last 2 hours into the small town we were looking for. We met the seller, talked a little while, looked at some of his other projects and talked some more.

You midwest guys have got it made. This car is 80 years old. Other than the cowl sides, there is zero metal rot on this car.

We took about 2 hours to chat, look and load before we piled back into the truck to return home, another 1100 miles, or so I thought.

Trying to avoid the Kansas turn pike, I drove west through Omaha, then south towards Salina, KS. Man what a mistake. What took us a day to get to ended taking us a day and a half to get back. I gotta say the family enjoyed every minute of the trip, including the lack of regular "lady stops".

Our plan is to build an unchopped, slightly channeled hot rod, probably w/ a 283, eventually built to a 302. And a 4 speed if there is enough room. Thanks in advance to the family and friends that I will con into helping me.

Right now I need a driver door and the panels above each door.

Now, lets see if I'm smart enough to post a few pics.

Sounds like you had a great trip and the A looks really nice. How is the wood in it?

anything closer was twice as much and rotted.

Besides, it was a way to get out of the house......
