I can't get over how cool this Bantam is. Blown Hemi, short wheelbase, magnesium wheels with hard slicks--it must have been one hell of a ride. And if it blew up at speed it came straight back in your face. Crazy man, just crazy!

Was the Bugg and Robilio "Memphis Rodders" roadster originally the Dave Marquez roadster? I read somewhere that Dave sold his roadster to a guy named Gilbert Bugg in Memphis, and this car has a lot of similarities to the Marquez roadster.

(Thanks for starting this thread...I love the old drag roadsters)

I have always loved altereds. These are my two current cars. Kirk Kuhns and I just finished the short one with the small block Chevy. The other is my fuel altered that we presently run with the Outlaw Fuel Altered ***ociation in Texas.

In the photo of the two 34 roadsters, the one on the left(CONFUSION )has a long and successful life as a record holder and Nationals winner ,later fell into disrepair, purchased by me in 1970.Not realiseing at the time it may someday be a restorable drag car, I built it into a highboy and have driven it for over 31 years. Ive always been very proud of its former glory.

Burkhart-Bramer & Burns, Pomona, 1959. Running Frank Cannon's blown fuel hemi out of the Hustler Two on this day. Ran 156 using high gear only. Astounding run for '59.

This is Buck And Bohls of Austin, Texas. Big on Olds power for the roadsters. The first was a street car. The 2nd is the drag car and final stages it was supercharged compe***ion to the (555) roadster. Later everything was dropped into the AA GAS dragster you see match racING with Eddie Hill.
