I really felt for this crew. THey stepped up and way beyond the normal call of duty. I don't know the burn out box girls name, but if I had taken a camera, I would have taken a picture of her...she was totally filthy! I mean rubber all over her legs and the rest of her looked like a young motorhead after a day in a junkyard. I clap my hands for the whole crew......!

  7. This little thing launched HARD! I'd love to hear what his 60ft times were!

You know when it comes to the AA cars. I just watch and look at the numbers posted up on the boards but never really absorb the info....probably because I know I'll never get there in this lifetime. I do however watch and soak in the 9.20-9.90 cars/altereds so I can set a realistic goals on what my pile of parts should do.

I did watch a certain 125" Altered dance all the way down the 1/4 and still pull an 8.12-8.17....and when I say dance it was not a smooth pretty dance but one of those front end skimming the pavement/wobble/skim/wobble dances! Saturday he ran an 8.02 on an 8.02 but he redlighted by .01 and tossed a hand up in disgust just a couple feet past the 60ft.....Mr. Goodman you're a hell of a driver.

What a great time!! Good folks, nice facilty, great cars. Had great conversation with the old timers by the campfire, They are walking history books that were racing with my heros.

I am still laughing from the un-autorized mini bike races we had at the and of the track Friday night!!!!

    Sunburnt!!!

Missy is the burnout box QUEEN. She's a racer,(11.60 Coronet) and knows how to control the boxes. She loves what she does and it shows!
A lot of the way the lanes run is because she makes it happen.
With the amount of cars there this weekend they should triple whatever she made.
When you have racecars in the spectator lot, you got lottsa f'in racecars!!
The Thompson crew runs a great race. Its no N**walk, but I'm damn glad it aint.

  14. Had a great time Saturday! It was so cool to see so many nose bleed gassers! The weather was perfect. The Texas guys with the 53 vette made my wifes day by letting her get in it. Boy I keep kicking myself for selling my 39 Stude Gasser. I guess I just have to build another one! I got it bad... real bad I will post some pictures later this week.

It was a great time. Loved being able to see the Slick Devils running their cars. Blew By You, Rebel Reaper, and Dave's Truck, all great runners. Weather was excellent, now I really have a redneck!:D

What a great time! The weather was incredible and the racing was even better! I was amazed that there was only one small oil down and hardly any cars broke... Can't wait till next year..

The event was much more than I thought it would be. The crew that ran the facility were wnderful people and they went out of there way to make you feel at home. The variety of cars and great gassers gave more than enough to check out for hours. Spent the entire day there Saturday and did not come close to seeing everthing. Met up with Martin and his family who own the Space Kadet Opel and Don Moyer with the Rebel Reaper Willy's It was wonderful visiting with them, checking out their cars and especially Don's Heart Automotive 33 Willy's. Also met Falcon Gasser real nice guy loved his Falcon.
Got together with Rick Proctor from the Ontario Nostalgia Drag Racers(ONDR) We lined our Fiats up together and did some bench racing between Rick making runs.
Also met a guy from England who made the trip from overseas. Said he wouldn't miss it.
The entire day at Thompson was well worth the 7 hour drive and I am already looking foward to next year.

  22. I believe this car was low et and Fred Bear was the winner, it was great three days other than the 12 hr. puking spell I caught at 2:20 a.m. Friday night. I managed to crawl back to the track on Saturday around 4 and help my buddy Art(the 550 34 ford coupe) go 4 rounds in the gamblers race.
I'll post my pictures as soon as I download them.

  23. Here's one of the 550 that I shot.

  30. Looks like a fun time. Let's hope all the trash talk earlier in this thread bears fruit and it gets settled ON track, not cyberspace. GASSER WARS are BACK !
