SkuzKitty watch:Keeping an eye out for a friend on the road making her way back to MT

So,here's the story:A recently acquired friend of mine,Brenda Butler,who is on some forums as Skuzkitty,is on a 1700 mile road trip driving her '34 Ford pickup(Rebuilt by Beatnicks for her),by herself,so I want people to keep an eye out for her if they can.Right now she's headed west towards Denver on the 70.She started this trip yesterday.So far,she's only had one major problem,and that was her throttle getting stuck wide open on her first overnight stop.I told her to shut it down,and she proceeded to describe the problem to me via phone calls and pictures through texting,in which case I helped her diagnose and resolve the issue and now she's back on the road.Only problem she's had today was loose bolt on her thermostat housing.Like I said,keep an eye out for her,and I'll keep everyone updated.She's also the person who helped me out by buying my striping kit so I can put some more funds towards putting my Caddy in the shop.I want her to make it home so she can enjoy her hotrod and the striping kit and all the extra goodies I packed inside it.

 

Where in MT is she headed?

I would expect she is taking I90 North. I am in Billings MT, if she has trouble when she gets close I'll try and get some help sent her way. I have a couple local shops and friends with flexible work schedules that could likely make a mad dash with trailer.

She's headed to Whitefish Montana.She just hit Colorado.Thanks for th offer,so what name would she ask for is she called?

 

She's about 165 miles from Denver.

 

Just to let you know,this drive is from Kansas to Montana,and it's not trailering the '34,she's driving the '34 the whole way

Thanks for everyone's well wishes.Just got off the phone with her.Turns out it's Jeff Myers of Beatniks and his buddy's that did the work and fixing on her 34 Ford Pickup.She's currently stopped at a cool**** little diner in Colorado.She's riding the road with no other comfort's other than a cell phone,9mm,and a feather pillow under her**** for cushion.Can't wait until she gets home to enjoy the pinstriping kit I sent her,as well as some bonus items I packed the kit with,and she gets to stripe up her Ford.I'll keep y'all updated.She'[s making decent progress and hopefully keeps on trucking(Knock on wood).

 

I passed the numbers along and she sends her thanks,and I send mine as well.She's planning on flying out for Bo Huff out here in September,and I told her I'll take her around in luxury(The '63 Cad).She's loving the trip so far due to the adventure of it all.

 

Where about in Kansas did she leave from?Jeff i sjust down the road from me.(more or less)

 

She left from his shop.She's now puttin through Colorado on her way to Montana.She left the I-70 diner not too long ago,so she's on the I-70,just stopped in Limon,Colorado to get fuel,80 miles east of Denver

She's heading back to Montana,heading west on the I-70 I think

 

She's now hitting Toll 470 around Denver.

 

Tell her to get a blanket to wrap up in because it is cold here.Good luck to her!!

 

She's bundled up from what she said,but the '34 has developed an exhaust leak.

 

She just texted me,she's almost to Ft. Collins

She stopped by a gas station,and as she was leaving an exhaust mount broke.She crawled under and said the exhaust mount tab was some of the jankiest fab she had ever seen.Luckily the Beatnik boys went over everything else.She's getting some solid wire to wire it up for now.I'm relaying all the numbers to her.You might want to make sure Ryan is available for that once over.She's truckin along,and I gotta say she's pretty********* for doing it,solo none the less.

 

She's in Cheyenne,WY at the moment.

 

Great thread. ShuzKitty, you are without a doubt a modern day hero.

 

I'll have to have her sign up here when she gets home,or log on if she's a member.I'll relay the kind words.So,the exhaust leak,well,found the culprit.The bolts that mate the headers to the tailpipes keep backing out due to vibration,so Brenda pulled over and fixed them with some lock washers.Damn that woman is almost totally prepared.

I am on the totally wrong side of the state but if she takes a wrong turn and ends up in the SE corner of the state she can look me up...

 

Shes already a member I have talked to her and she is straight up good peoples. Search my friends list or other means to find her. Skuzkitty is her name on here also. Hope she gets home without much more trouble. I really get a kick out of her making the trip and by herself also that is just too kickass!-Weeks

 

She's staying the night in Casper right now,but I think she might need Ryan's help tomorrow with a little welding.
