Still pissed –with a “Warning” and a Happy Ending

This happened last November. My friend took his wife for lunch in his 46 Ford On his way home he has the green light approaching an intersection a car makes a left turn in front of him and clears him,But some dumb mother f#*ker is following right behind and hits him head on. My friend was thrown from the Ford and his wife was stuffed under the dash. They had to use the Jaws of Life on the seat to get her out. Still pissed thinking about that dumb mother f%#ker.

The” Warning” Always buckle up no matter how short the drive. He was about four blocks from his house. I turned 57 today and he has 17 years on me. Old school rodder for sure, been there done that. They usually always buckle up. Don’t know why they didn’t that day?

The Happy Ending is he took his new ride a 51 Ford convertible to Good Guys Loveland Colorado and got the ShoeBox pick.

Hate to hear bout this kind of stuff, and thanks for the reminder.

I was just talking about that to my wife yesterday when we went out for a cruise, I am going home and putting in seat belts TODAY, I have them but been to lazy to do it.

Glad to hear things turned out ok.

our hotrods and customs were built before crumple zones, safety cages, side impact beams and so on. they may be big, heavy cars but you can still get hurt in an accident, so be safe and buckle up.

:D The good thing is everyone is OK and it looks like the '47 Ford can be repaired on back on the road someday. I've always put seat belts in my old cars no matter what. :D

    CRUISER

That interior shot looked harsh. The fact that they came out of it ok is all that matters. Damn shame about the car

  12. The happier ending would be about a $40,000 check from the other guy's insurance company, but it's good that they were apparently all right in the end.

Glad they are ok. They say that most accidents happen within a mile of your house, that has been true of almost all the accidents I've been in.

If you look at the picture of the dash you will see he hit the windshield before being ejected. He had a cut on his forehead and said he was black and blue from the waist down….Tough Guy at 77

Naturally sad about the accident and the damage to the car... but curious: if the Ford looked like that, what the hell did the f***er's car look like?

Side question: what make of seatbelts do you guys recommend?

It sucks when stupid people in new junk wreck nice old cars. I just finished metal work on a 56 ford that some impatient ass decided to try to pass on the right. I had to section in the rear corner of the frame, 1/3 of the trunk floor, the rear body panel and whole right quarter. He and his family were ok, but the new car was completely totaled. Hopefully these stupid drivers learned something that they will pass on to their stupid friends. And 77 and ejected?!? Thats one tuff guy!!! Glad everyone's alright!

He must be one tough guy, I'm 45 and in good shape and pulled the ligaments in the right side of my back stepping awkwardly off a curb last Friday. Glad to hear they are both OK, I'm kind of partial to the 51 anyway.
