SkuzKitty watch:Keeping an eye out for a friend on the road making her way back to MT

So,Brenda is now at Terry's shop in Billings getting some things taken care of on the '34,then she'll hit the road again.Thanks for the help and contacs Scott.Looks like both exhaust mount tabs had broke around the welds,and she has some seal leaks,but she'll get things taken care of.Terry is fixing the exhaust as we speak.

 

Well,that was quick.She's back on the interstate now,hittin the road.

She just called me.Man,they did the work for a shotgun(12 pack for those that don't speak Californian trailer park talk).So,she says it's cold as hell coming up that last big hill before the home stretch,but she's making it,she jus bought some RedBull and back on the commute.They mounted new exhaust hangers with straps to give the exhaust a little play so the mounts don't break again.Now she's got a few minor issues.Leaks here and there,but the one that worried her is the leak coming from around her valve cover breather.I told her to stop at a parts store when she gets a chance,send me a pic and I'll tell her what she needs.Oh,and they tightened up all the loose bolts.That little '34 don't like vibration on them country roads too much,haha.But the 'kitty is holdin together just fine.

Welp,she stopped and got the oil breather problem fixed,all by herself.She's back on the road again.

 

Last night I got ahold of Terry at home, he just got back from Texas and didn't know how/where he was going to fit her in, but after learning she was a HAMBer he said he'd get it done and treat her right.

Terry is not computer literate, he doesn't own a cell phone and has had the same 1960 parkwood wagon daily driver since he was 15 (over 30 years).

I can't promise Collett's shop always works for beer but he has been known to cut some pretty good deals.

Glad she is on the home stretch.

She's only 5 hours from home.I doubted he'd usually do it for beer,but he came through for her,and she appreciates it.She lives maybe about 60 miles from the Canadian border.Man,can't wait til she gives me the call to say she's home,and she should have a nice present in the mail for her tomorrow

 

She's been taking pics along the way,so I'm pretty sure she'll have some stuff to post up.

Well,she made it home last night,and she sent me pics of the truck.What a journey,and can't wait for her to post on this thread,or maybe her own thread.I have a shit ton of respect for her,and we bonded even though we haven't yet met face to face,only know each other via phone calls and texts and forums like this.I was talking to her while I was at Magic Mountain today,and I gotta say,if she makes it out here for Bo Huff in Sept,I'll take her to the show in my Caddy,since she's talking about flying out instead of another cross country trek.But,one bit of bad news,UPS screwed up the pinstriping box I sent her,and she sent me plenty of pics to state my case with them,and I did get it insured when I sent it to her,so,I'm going to go in to their office tomorrow and tear them a new one.

 

That's just too kickass...glad she made it safe...so...where's the pics she sent you? Or are they not the "sharing on the internet with strangers" kind of pics? Hahaha...I don't know many people that would attempt that trip, let alone pull it off...kudos to her for a rockin road trip in a '34 pickup...

Sorry I missed this, I'm in Bozeman, I would have bought her lunch or a least given her some company for a quick rest stop. Way to go, hardcore roadtrip.

Unfortunately I lost a lot of the pics,due to they were sent via texy on my phone,and we texted so much back and forth that I had to keep clearing my messages off of my phone to keep in touch with her and keep track of her progress.I'm pretty sure she'll post up some pics soon enough.

 

Well,she's going to get the pics from her road trip up soon,I just talked to her.Can't wait!
