So I'm finalizing the deal today, but wanted some feedback on dates... right now looking at Oct. 18, 2009 for the Inaugural Billetproof Florida Drags anything else going on in Florida or surrounding states that would conflict? The rules getting a car in to run would be the same as a Billetproof show, 64 and before, traditional style only. Competition cars are more than welcome. All cars have to pass a basic tech inspection, helmets required for open cars. Run as many passes as you can until you break something or the track closes. You can bracket race or heads up, your choice. Or you can hang out in the pits and watch the band. No "car show" but a few trophies offered for Low ET, Perfect Light, Most Spectacular Mechanical Failure... things like that.
Weekend of Oct 16th is both the GG Bowling Green KY event and the Kontinenials Day of the Drags I believe. Probably not have much if any effect on a FL gig but I just wanted to mention it incase.
hmmm.. that seals it... I'll pick another date... many people will go to Biketoberfest. Perhaps Oct 10th
I do not know how much the NSRA meet in Tampa would affect it. I do know that if yours is the same weekend, I'll be at Billetproof!! Robert
actually I posted the wrong date... Oct. 11th, Sunday. it would be the last day of the NSRA event. I dont know if it would hurt either show to have the races on Sunday. Will have to think about that.
2nd weekend in october is hunnert car pileup, you'll force all the chicagoland folks to make a tough choice...
no!,thats my 12 year wedding annv.,my wife will never let me race my anglia gasser on that weekend!!!,orlando speed world?,,,1/4 mile i hope?
yep that is a conflict date...a lot of guys i know will be at the nats...they have there give aways on sunday..and its always good stuff... but i'm looking forward to the 1st billetproof drag races...it will be fun to run the coupe.....dave
I would rather it not be the weekend of the NSRA as well....Like Rooster Dave said....Sunday is giveaway day, and I won $1,500 worth of stuff last year! I think that the NSRA would be much more of a conflict than carshows in another state. I register 3 cars there for 3 days, and would hate to miss the last day...but I would if I had to.
Don't the FEDs do something around this time in mid FL? Doesn't matter I 'll make the trip for both. I'd rather cut my lawn than got to the nats in Tampa, went once and wish I could get back the wasted days.
Hhhmmm. Could it be here? Lakeland Motorsports Park is about as central as it gets, plus its really close for me. 1/8 mi. outlaw track with reasonable tech. http://www.lakelandmotorsportspark.com/
