Can anyone help me identify what parts I have. I do know that they are Pontiac. I have heads, exhaust, intake, short block, and a bunch of misc parts that I would like to sell.
Not to be a smart ass but google works wonders http://www.google.com/search?client...&q=pontiac+casting+numbers&btnG=Google+Search You have to do a bit of sorting through the junk as usual but there is plenty of info there.
No one on here are magicians. You need to supply head numbers, block numbers (located on the front right passenger side of the block) , and if possible, numbers embossed next to the ditributor
Here is what I got 1 pair heads 9770716 1 pair heads 092 on center exhaust 1 short block 212295 YU 1 complete engine and trans 543680 1 exhaust 545467 1 exhaust 9779033 1 intake 18496572
The 9770716 heads are either '64 GTO or '63-'64 421 H.O.----a nice find. The 092 heads are nothing special, just bread and butter '66 389.

Not a Pontiac intake manifold. *You must check the casting date near the distributor hole to find exact year and displacment.
I have a bread and butter 67 389. The old cooling system it had went from the radiator through the pump and in one side of the block, through the head, across over to the other head, down into the other side of the block and into the radiator. I changed it over to the modern system simply by installing a newer timing chain cover and waterpump. I bought it already built with 6x heads .060 over bore with 400 pistons. I didn't corrupt an original The modern cooling goes from the radiator, simultaneously through both sides of the block, into both heads then back into the radiator from the front crossover. I was going to scrap out the old timing cover but it wasn't pitted at all. I got almost a hundred bucks for it on fleabay!
I can't say what they're worth but I can say who'd be interested, restorers not racers unless someone is racing stock class and needs factory castings. check with NUNZI"s http://www.nunzi-pontiac-expert.com/ maybe they might be able to tell you more. They race and run an all pontiac junkyard.
Do yourself a favor and sell the pieces that people want to pay for. Half of the stuff you listed falls into the "no big deal" category. Insisting on a package deal will only turn prospective buyers away.
maybe that's what it was. the tempests look pretty close I guess. it has the old style mounts, I couldnt bolt it into my 71 firebird without fabricating some mount. I got it from a junkyard, story on it was the farmer just got it back from the machine shop and had it sitting in the car. he stepped out of his truck. his kid put the truck in gear and it rolled across the yard and t-boned the tempest totalling it. I swapped a 78 350 camaro i couldn't get a title for and a 71 ford pickup for it. It was still in the bag sitting in the frame. the Dad was sellin the whole car and somebody came by put some token money down on it and when dad was not home the "buyer" loaded the aftermarket tranny, the wheels/tires, the spare parts and all the goodies from the trunk and left the car unpaid for which is why he gave up on it.
Firebirds use the same mount in a different place, some blocks are drilled for both, some just one or the other.
I'm looking for a drivers side exhaust manifold (Part # 9779033) for a '68 Catalina. Do you have one or know where I can find one? Thanks, Tom
