I have been reading the feedback and comments on the food and rest room issue, cruise/piss/cruise/piss/eat/cruise..whatever order you do it in is your business...
But seriously...I agree, no In-N-Out truck...I think patronizing the local businesses is the way to go...If we buy from them, bathroom issue is solved...
I will be talking with Rydell on Monday...He is the one that threw out the July 1st date originally...I have seen a post mentioning the NHRA Museum Twilight Cruise is the 1st Wednesday of the month...Rather than competing with that, should we keep it the 2nd Wednesday of the month?
Van Nuys Blvd belongs to us all, So throw it out there...Rydell will allow us the lot once a month...We have between now and Monday to tell me what day we want so I can relay the census and we can become more organized...We have the strength in numbers here...
So I guess this is a poll....... 2nd Wednesday of the month? Keep the feedback coming
I will post a solid date on Monday...

I am hearing that the July NHRA Twilight Cruise is the final one as the NHRA Museum is being transferred to the Petersen Museum. When Harveys/Bob's Broiler opens in Downey there may be a Wednesday night cruise night - Cyclone Kevin is the one to ask on that.

  3. I really don't think the guys that do the Museum go to Van Nuys. I wouldn't consider that an issue. BUT, NO TO ANYTHING that will make people STAY in the lot at Rydell. A huge THANKS to them for giving us this "base camp". But, we need to encourage folks to cruise. No bathrooms or food at Rydell.

I think part of the problem is now when people go to a "cruise", it's really a "Sit"...Park the car, get the chair, walk around...It's what everyone is now used to..BECAUSE THERE ISN"T CRUISING ANYWHERE, ANYMORE!! We are now to break that habit and get behind the wheel again...Isn't that why we build these cars? To drive them. right?.. Now we can again .But I think a lot of the lot lollygagging was due to people seeing people from years ago popping up all around...Gotta admit, seeing a lot of old faces was cool...Street parking is permitted, if people become regulars at different spots again, it will return to more like it was...Wednesday was the first night back...Just the beginning....It's gonna just get better and better..

  8. Yes, I agree, and am guilty myself. I re-kindled 30+ year relations. Now that it'll be 30 days, instead of 30 years, I have no excuse to hang out at the "lot". I will be cruising;). Say NO to food/toilets at Rydell!!!!!!!!!! "BUT" another huge thanks for them providing us "base camp". So very, very cool of them AND the Police for their hospitality Wednesday.

the 2nd wednesday of the month gets my vote. it makes sense to not compete with other car events if we don't have to.

1st or 2nd Wed as long as we do it again soon! Damn that was a good night! So much more fun than 'parkandsit' type shows!
No to sitting in Rydells too long, ban any lawn chairs - sitting to be done only in a moving vehicle!
Groucho - thanks for that shot of the '40 - & Juggsy for putting it on FB! 3 of us jammed in the front seat having a whale of a time! Cut55 calls it 'badass' - you made my night!

I'll see you all next time, count me in for picking up trash!

I used to live in the SFV and would sit in traffic to go to the twilight cruise, now I live about a 1/3 of a mile from the NHRA museum and I still go to Bob's on Friday nights and drove out to the cruise last Wednesday. So there are a FEW people other than my self that travel to all these events, so 2nd Wednesday gets my vote!
BTW I had no idea that next month's twilight cruise was supposed to be the final one..

If we go south on Van Nuys to the In n Out and then turn around there making the Ralphs the top end there is a lot of mostly empty wide street and car dealships to light the way. I t seems like it would be a better route and as many people have said, if it grows we'll need the parking space on the street. That would be for the full effect, having all the old cars lining the streets, not crammend up in a parking lot.

  18. The closer you get to Ventura Blvd, the more problems you will run into! There's too many people over there that have nothing better to do than complain...

  19. Hey, what do you know Mary? I didn't see you there:p. R U going to the Roadster Show next weekend?

  20. Yep! Setting up "Camp HAMB". We'll be on the north side of the swap area, near the tree.
    ...and it's Suzy!!!! not Mary!
You should come to my HAMB BBQ today!

yep rydells was very cool of them......but we dont need a starting place or a resting place there is plenty of street just show up and cruize (i cant belive the spelling police have not corrected me on cruize) see diff packs parked stop and visit then cruize.....so cruize eat drink piss stop bullshit cruize would be nice to have the sidewalks full of eye candy.........oh sorry i was dreaming out loud

  22. I heard about the BBQ. But, I'm trying to finish a 29 RPU for a friend. He's had it for about 5 years, and it never ran. Anyway, I drove it around yesterday for the first time. I need to do a couple things to it, so he can have a few days with it before the show next weekend. I don't want to let him down like some other shops have. But thanks................Suzy:D. BTW-Road Kings FREE show at Johnny Carson Park tomorrow. Over 500 cars every year in a really nice park

  23. It sure looked like you were having a BLAST. BIG SMILES every time I saw you;)

  24. I'll be at El Mirage.

  25. Yeah, that shot came out a lot cooler than I expected!!! Prolly had a lot to do with your car:cool:

  26. I agree bob. I use to live up there. North bound the streets are wider and less traffic. Keep it the same route.
