Unknown #2 is Gerry Glenn...maybe Sid Waterman's car
Unknown #4 is Bobby Tapia...maybe Donovan and Dawes car. Bobby was said to be one of the best "brake-men" as he could control the smoke with the brakes. No evidence of this here however.

Well, I figured i'd better make my first post ever on this forum worthwhile.. So here goes...

Dad's (Ross Preen) first Dragster. Ex Jim Read Holden 186cui inline 6cyl FED running triple Weber DCOE's on methanol.

Dad pictured left with his partner (in the car) and friend Steve Brakenridge right.
(Check out the side burns! haha.)

They campaigned this car from 1972 to 1977.

After that, they built this car..

Holden 186, Littlefield blueprinted 4/71 supercharger with 4 port hilborn injection cut down to 3 port on methanol.

He's too modest to post them so i figured I would for him.. :)

    PS. Best thread EVER!

Preen59 It is good of you to post these shots of your dad's cars and you should be proud of his and Steven's history. Post some shots of his current rail as well.

Welcome Preen59. I've seen one nightshot pic of the RED shooting little blue flames somewhere. Gotta find it for you.

Nope. A totally different Mike Sullivan from Southern California. As far as I know this one never hid nitrous in a battery <G>

No worries, Bob. I will do. Haven't been right through this thread yet but i take it no one has posted any pics of the new car?

Now that would be really cool! :)

Interesting you bring up nitrous and Wayne County. They were qualifying at the U.S. Nationals and there was an explosion when Alderman (I think) tried to launch. Scotty Cannon was standing beside me and he said, "Lot of people have that problem until they get a handle on it."
