Just a guess, since I have never been to either of these events, but they do not sound like the people attending would be in conflict with those wanting to go to the Billetproof Drags. IMHO...
Its looking like Oct. 25th is going to be better for a variety of reasons. will report back later today.
Robert, I think a trailer tire will work as a drag slick... Green Stink certainly didn't need a drag slick... but it had one
The Daytona Dream Cruise is for all those "PURTY" cars. It will not be any conflict for us. We would love it on Oct. 25th!
Sound like we've got a hit on the date. The track has said it sounds cool, but will be double checking the date on Wed.... but I think we are looking good on Oct. 25th.
Hey Skip....Seeing how you happen to know what kind of welder it was, it sounds like you might have had something to do with the redneck ingenuity! I see new ones with ratio choice, and 1-year warranty for $500-$600 range on ebay.... The 25th sounds good to me.....I don't think the Daytona thing will affect it either.
Rooster, keep checking on Craigslist. I just bought one out of Lutz for the wife and paid $100 for it. It needs new tubes and a clutch, but I rode it down the road a couple of days ago and the motor is fine. It is only a 3.5 hp Briggs, no bottom end but it hauls butt after you get it wide open. I'm pulling it all down for a repaint and re do the seat. I have seen them on there for as little as $60-75 that need carb work or some minor work. Robert
Why yes Jon, I welded it up for a Granada I used in a stunt show at the Louisiana Superdome. Here is Green Stink undergoing extreme payload testing
If in central Fl. most likely Desota speedway bout 45-50 miles west of Sebring I live about 30 from the speedway anyone need any local info let me know.
The "Poor Boys" of Florida will be there with our HotRods and ....... we have 4 Vintage Mini-Bikes in our group.....so far
Affordable would be the biggest factor for me. I'd like to be able to find a complete or be able to build one for $200.00 - $300.00. The other factor would be location. I'm in Orlando and have a hard time finding the time to pick bikes up that are like 100-200 miles away. I'm willing to pay shipping - no problem and even bits and pieces will do. I'm a small dude (5' 3" 113 soaking wet), so I think I could even get by with a 3.5 hp or so. Any help people could provide would be great. Thanks.
