Mine had cut fenderwells and a dualy kit to go with the 3/4 ton axel...but the truck only has 80,000 origanal miles and a V8. So I found a unibody basket case and used the rear fenders, next is 1/2 ton rear end and lowering.

  7. The fender opening reveal is very cool and subtle...most folks won't notice the difference unless right next to each other...

  8. I remember this truck from Pleasanton for sale a few years ago...whoever you sold it to repainted it and was trying to sell it as a legit ex-racer...unless you repainted it after the picture below?

Was that ex-racer (1960's-70's) story BS or is that the real deal?

Total BS..I know the guy I sold it to was selling it on Ebay.He was very arrogant too.No the car was not an ex racer at all.It was from So Cal and was built in like 2003 and was at Viva in like 04 if I remember correctly.I have pics of the truck when I first bought it.I painted it this yellow and did the cheezy flames and added a yellow plexi glass rear window.I remember driving it to Pleasanton a couple of times, that truck was always interesting to drive, there was no firewall in it at the time I owned it.My wife was wearing shorts and hot oil was coming out of the breather and spraying all over her leg..LOL..

Okay, here's a 1960 F100 with a bunch of HAMB history. Terry (38Chevy454) bought it and drove it around stock until he traded it off for a home-built modified to Jason (Killer) who fixed (?) the transmission, lowered it and put straight pipes on it. Jason then traded me for a '57 Chevy wagon that I got from JimA. I rebuilt the carb, installed a muffler, disc brakes, a dual circuit master, installed a No Limit under bed fuel tank and replaced the front axle with a Mustang II ifs on the truck. In a moment of weakness I traded the truck off for a Model A roadster that needed a ton of work. I still miss that truck...

That's kind of what I figured...he sort of over-compensated, and had "documentation" which all looked like BS...thanks for confirming it...

Did the same basic idea on my 63, but I just wanted the bedsides for mischievous reasons of being lightweight in the rear:D. BURNOUTS and DONUTS oh my! Mine ended up being 72 inches or 6 foot on the money.

I allways wanted to shorten one, but only at the front about 9''. So it would be a middle sized bed. Not too short not too long. You should leave it like that.

I can get a hold of a 65' and was thinking about going mid-60's drag style, like the old a/fx drag cars. My dream would to have a 427 sideoiler but who am i kidding its only ever gonna be just a dream Anyone ever do one up like that??

No the 61 wont work. The blinker lights are in different locations. Well you can make ANYTHING work but as far as just a switch and go type set up no. I wouldnt think it would be hard to do if you have any experience in welding though. 61 lights are in the grille and 65 are on the actual truck. Fill in the voids and do some cutting and go with it. I know what you mean though cause I think 61 is the best looking grille as well. Ive thought about it and it will fit right into mine but I like having it all stock.

I have always thought so too. Everyone else tends to like the '66 grill best, but something about the '61 is just straightforward & clean.

The truck is in New England now. Been for sale on e-gay and at a few swap meets. I've been over the truck. Its nicely done and looks like it would be fun as hell to drive:D

No cutting would be required if you just get the '61 header panel with the grille.
