I have had good experience with the bombs I used in the new shop before I moved in. 3000 sq. ft. and used two bombs (vapor). Let it sit / fume for 24 hours. Went in the next day and I had hundreds of dead critters all along the floor and base boards including Camel spiders, Black Widows and Roaches.

I use this stuff called "DEMON" inside and outside of my house once a month. You can get at nusery or plant store, comes in packets that disolve in water. I'll spray it one day and about two days later I find dead
insects all over the place. If you can find it, give it a try.

  4. right on ill try that if the skull and cross bones stuff i just picked up doesnt do the trick

A friend of mine in "Black Widow land" does that to his garage every now and then. Says it works good!
Haven't done it yet myself but I'm gonna give it a go soon.
We don't have Widows though....thank the Lord!

I would bomb the f**k out of it, then go in with BIG leather gloves, make sure you tape ALL your clothing so they can't get in anywhere and start pulling stuff out of the car and bug spraying the hell out of all the parts once they are out. But be carefull, they are nasty little f**kers.

I have also heard that if you put moth balls in a car, it will keep spiders out.

  9. at this point i think im gonna bring home a Mapp gas torch and just go to town

  10. but then what do you do with the castrated Moth when you done?

Pyrethrum poison is a good choice, will kill them within seconds when sprayed directly. Concentrated Methomyl will kill anything. Both of these are very toxic and can kill you but will kill anything alive in that car, make sure you are in a full Tyvek suit with gloves and boots with the seams taped and a good element mask with integrated eye cover (gas mask) spray the shit out of the car and let sit for a week before going inside of it. BE CAREFUL but it should work. Brake-Kleen works too, but is very tedious.

Times 2. Before we start tearing apart any project or parts car, I tarp it up, drop one under the car and one in the back floor boards, with the trunk and hood lifted. Have yet to have one survive the fogging. Wait 24 hours, untarp, check at night with flashlight.

  19. glad to hear that im getting antsy to get home with my tarp and bombs

ill use the skull and cross bones stuff i have now and then friday morning ill do the RAID too

    then happy wrenching on saturday

As long as the bombs don't leave any residue or moisture, there should be no reason that the electricals would be damaged. I've used 'em in the same room as a half ton of stereo equipment... Electronics can be home to all sorts of creepy crawlies. Man I hate spiders...

    Just sell the car.

Anybody ever tried putting the car inside a big plastic bag and filling it with nitrogen or carbon dioxide? Spiders need oxygen too. If you have a mig welder you might have enough gas to do the job.

Don't screw around with it. Call an exterminator! My mom got tagged by about 20 hornets last summer while mowing behind a bushy area of the yard and she called an exterminator and he came out and had this little hand sprayer and moved some stuff around and ended up running away using the spray as a shield to keep as many off him as he could. Said that was the biggest hornet nest he had ever seen and there might be 500 - 800 hornets in there. He came back later with a trailer and a hose attached to that and kicked their asses. No more hornets.

I'm sure they have a solution for spiders too. They are the bug people.

Mom said it wasn't all that expensive like she though it would be....

Also, you might try out a chemical company. Here in Tyler, TX we have a place called Center Chemical. They sell all sorts of chemicals from bug sprays to pool chemicals. You can go in there and ask them and they usually know what will take care of what and if they don't have any of it they can usually get some.

I know that there is some spray that does work on spiders also. When I used to do electrical work, there was a house I worked on that had a spider spray setup installed on the eves of the house. It was out in the woods and there was a lot of spiders that would get up in the eves. This system had a pressurized spray in a huge container in the garage piped to all the eves and every so often it would come on and spray for a few seconds to keep spiders gone. What ever chemical that was should help in your case too.

    Hope that was helpful.

  27. damn so i take it you've been here before :D

  28. well i ran into some luck.... i work a parts counter at a plumbing supply and this guy rolls up in a truck marked "Robins Pest Control" he needs about 45$'s in parts so i talked him into taking the parts and spraying my car with "anti spider super black widow killer deluxe" =)

ill save the bug bombs for the garage and the spot killer for any hangers on

  29. OK, Scott, now you MUST report back here with results. And more results after a week or so. Lots of us are interested.
