We're off to a bit of a slow start this year, but the website is up and running, and pics from last year are up. As always, the show is the 2nd Saturday in October. I'll save you the trouble, that's October 10, 2009! We have a great lineup of band again, including the Hot Rod Hucksters (rockabilly), Miss Jubilee & the Humdingers (jump blues), Crazy Rocket Fuel (all girl rockabilly), Cathouse Drifters (western swing), Nuke Mutes (psychobilly), the 99ers (surf/garage), and Tracer Bullet (rock n' soul). Yes, the rumor is true, there will be NO swap meet this year. Just too many problems to make it worthwhile, but there will be plenty of vendors as usual. If you want a swap meet, stick around for the Lion's Club swap meet on Sunday. It's bigger and better than ours ever was, and all the swappers at the Pileup have always been at the Lion's swap, too. Check out the website for all the details, including info on our new drag racing event! The Hunnert Car Heads-Up! http://www.HunnertCarPileup.com/
And as always, the show wouldn't exist without volunteers like YOU. You can sign up here: http://www.hunnertcarpileup.com/volunteers or read about it more here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=368108&highlight=volunteers
AAAAHHHHH!!!! Hundred Car Pileup no.8..............all is right with the world After getting both knees replaced last winter this will be a great way to test them out. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!! Frank
Thanks for including that, Catherine! She's right, this show would NOT happen without our army of volunteers we affectionately call "the Red Shirts".
Awesome! Can't wait. Maybe someday I'll even drive a car there. What is the best night to stay in town? Friday or Sat?
Both. We have bands both nights. Friday is usually slightly better only because folks are all revved up.... Saturday night some folks are tired and gearing up for their 13 hr drive home or whatever it is. Good luck though if you haven't booked a hotel yet...
Can't wait!!!! I planned my wedding around it this year and the little lady was completely on board with it.
Not sure on the situation IN Morris right now, but if they're booked up already, you can try Dwight, Ottawa, and Joliet. They're the closest towns with hotels, and are each about 15-20 minutes away on I-80 or Rt.47. Definitely register soon if you want a hotel though!
ill be there! I hope to get my 51 back on the road and make this show its first event! thats is my goal anyways looks like a blast
wife and i will be there gonna try to get the dodge running so we can drive it if not we will drive the other car (not hamb friendly) our first year kinda exciting!
Cant wait to hang with my own personal Redshirt Army(tm) Don't forget .. the Morris Lions Club is having their show and swap the very next day on October 11th.. on route 6, 5 miles east of Morris... its a great show and swap. We are getting lots of volunteers already, so sign up if you want to help out with a couple hours of your time. Interesting note.. the car on the front of the postcard was built by "Al Thompson" who just passed away recently. He was a local area hot rodder and customizer, was a super nice guy and did great work ... drove the heck out of his cars. His friends are organizing a memorial car show in his honor. 1st Annual AL THOMPSON MEMORIAL CAR SHOW August 2nd 'Timber Creek Inn' - Rte. 34 - Sandwich, IL 8-3pm (Registration 8 til Noon) - AWARDS! RAFFLES!
Definitely loking forward to the show this year. Franklly one of my favorite shows. Hope for great weather like last year. You guys always put on one hell of a show!
Maybe. We're still working out some details, but we're hoping that we can all do as little as possible... except race.
damn, im getting stoked. Ive never been before and I hear nothing but awesome things about the show. Im looking at hotels now!
Oh yeah, if you want to be a vendor or a sponsor, please contact me. We have plenty of space for vendors, but the indoor spots sell out rather quickly.
