Features Roadster Pickup........picture thread

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Royalshifter, Dec 27, 2008.

  1. Ok...this may not be HAMB friendly, but does anyone have any pic's of the '33/'34 roadster pickups, based on the car body?

I think this is the one that Roy Brizio built back in '83.

My brother-in-law, at Show Me Rod and Custom, has that mold, and I am considering building a beater hiboy version, but am looking for pic's.

A friend of mine owns this RPU. It was built by another friend, Don Marks.

If I remember correctly, it's a '36 with a '35 shell. Don reworked the door tops and the back of the cab to roadsterize it. The cowl, I think, is '34 roadster along with the WS frame.

Well, I can finally post the actual start of my avatar becoming reality. This is a Brookville roller that I just picked up last week. Next step is drivetrain, wiring and the usual. It'll have a 351 Windsor/Tremec TK500. Keepin' it simple and as old school as possible.

Here's my project. Started with a backyard resto body, stretched and leaned, custom chassis, 327 w/4-71, 5-speed, Halibrand quick change and rollers. I'll finish it one of these days.

When I was a kid a guy name Mike Hogan in Valinda Ca. gave me a ride in his roadster. All I can remember was the smoke boiling off the tires next to my elbow and all those carbs on top of that HEMI. What a neighborhood to grow up in. Across the street is where Les Hawkins lived ( The 15 OZ. fuel coupe) Never got a ride in that sucker. I guess I can tell the story now since its been 47 years. That roadsters pickup of Dean Lowes, his younger brother Jack and I would play drag racer when he wasn't around. We even put his Halibrand mags on Jacks 31 sedan one day. We were only 13 and didn't know any better. Sorry Dean...HEHEHE
