Ok, I will let you guys know why the owner probably wouldn't open up if it is soggy down there.

It is because of the diesel truck show last month, I know i was there. It had rained for a week straight before, and during, the show. The field next to the track got tore up real bad. That is were the vendors were all set up (for some reason, ???). Some trucks got stuck under there own weight, and some were partaking in general douchebaggery (don't be those guys). That was on a Friday. Then really early Saturday morning (it was still dark out) a couple of A$$HOLES decided to tear up the field some more and then go drive down the track, thereby covering it in mud.

Needless to say, the days drag racing was canceled and the owner said he never wants to hold a diesel event there again.

So guy, please please please be understanding if somethings seem odd and just roll with it.

  9. All the rigs that arrived this morning were kept out of the pits untill about 2:00. Things seemed to dry up pretty well by then. The pits are packed with tons of gassers, altered roadsters, front motor diggers, Comp coupes and altered wheelbase FX Mopars. Sorry, we were too busy to shoot photos.

Look for my bright yellow Pinocchio Comp Coupe in the Cackle Fest pits behind the pit grandstands. I'll have Andy Dunn Memorial Fund plaques and a few 2X and 3X T-Shirts.

A few of you guys are Exactly right.. We had to hold the line cause of soft ground. I was able to bring in my Memory lane cars and vendors (pull them outta line) which raised some eye brows and tempers.. But I'm the right guy for that job! :D (I'm used to getting bitched at)

Everything else is going great! Some BIG NAME cars here.

Oh, and one other thing that didn't help tempers in the waiting line..

A film crew was here at noon to film some cars on the starting line.. and The RAT TRAP layed a half track burnout!! Well, everyone heard it and thought for sure they were missing the show!

See ya'll down here. Hope ya have a good time.

We're leaving Friday afternoon as soon as the girlfriend gets off work, then haulin' ass down! See everyone down there!

  14. We had a pretty good day today (friday). Many HAMBers stopped by to pick up a shirt or Memorial Fund plaque. Denise stopped by to share some time and our shade. The head the Greek Fleet from Chicago, Rooman from Indy, one of the Hiltons from Cincy, Jack Chisenal from Vintage Air, Rick Proctor from Canada, Bob Soble all the way from Washington state, and a bunch of good old HAMB folks braved the 105 degree heat to check out Pinocchio.
Clark and his Dad have made the weekend pretty interesting. Good company and lots of new stories to hear as this is the first time I've done an event with them.
We're pitted right next to the track and have enjoyed the wiffs of nitro as the Fuelers pass close by at 230+.

If you are close enough to drive in tomarrow, DO IT. You will not be disapointed. Pinocchio and the rest of the Cacklefest cars will be raising heart rates at 8:00PM.

Sorry that I missed the meet and greet but it was a typical fuel car weekend for me. Besides working on Brendan Murry's Running Wild car I also did some welding on a couple of the the other nitro burners there when things broke. I did get to catch up with a bunch of the HAMB gang earlier each day before things got busy though.

It was great to see and meet new HotRodders this year........The intense heat really played havoc with the six-two setup.....I changed jets and other things several times, nothing like a cat chasin it's tail..I stripped one of the jets threads in the main venturi part of the carb....But then looked over and saw Don Moyers 27 T for sale w/ six rebuildable 94's sitting ayop a DragStar intake....I grabbed some wrenches...I looked right ,I looked left and ran over and swipted a carb...The Texas Dirty's gave me a small wire brush ''thanks!''and I tore down the carb and cleaned up what I needed...In the end it got the job done, Thanks Don for allowing me to scavenge the parts......The Truck only ran a best of 11.39.......I was not happy with that.....I have the engine and trans already removed..After a leak down test I found three more bent valves..all exhaust this time..This is the third time this year...It's been a hard racing season so far, but it should all get figured out soon and run the # I am after...hell I have a nitrous button yet to hit once this is all sorted out......So I was chasin my tail again for no reason, it was probably toast after the first burn out and the reason it would not respond to the changes I threw at it........Thanks again for all that stopped by while I was wrenchin and said hi and talked cars.....All of us that came down together from Ohio and did very well, we all went thru first round eliminations and was all eliminated the second......We all had lot's of fun !..........Littleman
