A little more progress on the 41 fenders the front chins are taking shape. They were formed on my T6 pullmax & planished with it also. Then a little shrink disc work no filler here just good old metal finish Danny.

those look pretty nice, but will the tire come out of the wheelwell with the back contour of the fender coming so far forward?

The front chin & rear panel are mock up's till we get the cab & chassis here around the end of this year. There is no room for it in the shop till I get the 48 COE in the shop finished & out Danny.

Beautiful work Danny. If you do not mind me asking, can you tell me how many hours you have in the pair of fenders? Jobs such as this take alot of time, and there are no short-cuts. Keep up the great work.

Baron on the hrs I lost count. I am doing them for a flat $$ fee. I do quite a bit of work that way but I am not afraid to tell them up front to sit down it ain't going to be cheap. Some say holy***** are you crazy or tell me they must think about it, those don't usually call or come back. Or OK just do it I know it will be great here is the deposit & what's the time & payment schedule. I have 3 projects from California in the shop & 1 from NY because of my high quality metal work & reasonable labor rate. I do not do any painting so you see just what you paid for. I also give my customers a complete tear down to rebuild photo CD to document every thing I do. I also never discuss other customers $$ figure & must see the vehicle in person to give a guesstimate & a lot of jobs are time & materials $40.00 per hr Hope this sorta answered your question Danny.

  14. What's a COE worth? I've seen a few near my place. They are abandoned behind some farms in the area. Are they worth digging out of the weeds?

Here is my 1938 GMC is on stock frame rails. Up front it has an early 80's one ton Chevy van front suspension with Air Bags. Out back it has a one ton dually Chevy rear end. For the engine &******* it has a late 70's 350 Chevy V-8, turbo 400******* and a Gear vendor overdrive.

Has anyone ever seen or know if Studebaker built a 50's era COE? If they did any pictures out there?

Confession time. Just spent three hours looking at this thread..
I'm hooked, kinda digging the more rusty than the pretty & shiney
    ones.

Gonna start looking for one of these asap (don't tell my wife).
Anyone wanna buy my 02 ford dually?
    ;-0

I'd really like to see some 4WD COE shots, I'm on a nonmaintained dirt road, in the weeds won't cut it.

  21. This is Rich Roberts GMC, I went with him to pick up the cab, he then put in on a motorhome chassis and fab'd up the ramp part, in his back yard shop! I will try to put up some pics with his race car on it or at least something cooler.
He is now building a '41 Chevy COE as a toter and he is building a streamlined trailer to go with it.
Then this one will be for sale.

I've not seen one and as far as I know one was never made. I'm not an expert, but have been keeping my eyes open for one for several years.

I dont know if its this one or not but I see one just like this '48 Studebaker running around in Fresno. Not too many around but definitly different. A face only a mother (and me) could love.
