Today was the annual automotive literature swap meet at the NHRA Museum in Pomona. The swap meet has bounced around several locations for over 30 years and for the past two years has been at the museum.
The goodies on sale are everything from old and not so old automotive magazines, books, posters, manuals, etc.
Here's some shots from this morning AND photos of a couple of goodies I picked up for myself :):):)

By the way, I did not inquire to the staff volunteers in the museum of any news of the future status of the museum. I'm sure they are quite tired of all of the questions.

I did shoot several hundred more photos inside the museum, but I'll save those for another day. I plan on a thread soon of just the museum displays, cars, etc....more later.

There's more....but this ought to hold you for awhile...:):):)

I know you are wondering about the price....They were $5 each, but since I offered to buy them all, I got them for a little over $2 each...

Little Books, man I loved those things. I had a stack about 3 ft. high in 62 and gave them to my girl friends little brother thinking I am making points and getting him interested in cars too..Yeah Right, he went to Azusa Swap meet and sold them for 10 cents apiece....

    Dammit! God Dammit!
I forgot all about this show!

Pat Ganahl was going to be there & fix me up with TRJ 1-5.
Instead- I sat at a car show playing like a gold chainer look-alike.
What a douche bag I am.:(

    Did U see Pat?

Man I wanted to go. Can't believe I forgot all about it.

Only plus was meeting a guy at the show w/ a 32 roadster that's been in the family for over 60 years. Was his dad's car. Hadn't ran in years- had run at Bonneville & El Mirage in past. He got car running (and painted w/ the black lacquer his dad bought 30 years ago) & took to El Marage last year & gave his dad a ride in it (Dad was too weak to push in the clutch) in El Mirage. Cool as ****! P***ed away soon after. That car dripped history. Flathead, Lasalle trans, 32 rear, red wires- OMG, I was in heaven. One of the original Pasadena Roadster Club members (the dad). Only shining light in an otherwise billet big wheel day.
And where was my camera? At home on the coffee table!

Nice score, man. I'd forgotten all about that nailhead bucket with the mags. Bill Roland, maybe? One of the nicest early ones.

I think you are right. I remember when that car was for sale in the cl***ifieds of Hot Rod Magazine, it was out in the San Fernando Valley somewhere.
I think it was the same issue that Ed Roth had an ad selling his "Tweety Pie" roadster for $2200...(sheesh)

Wow, that really takes me back. I used to go into the ba*****t of my buddie's, Dad's drug store and read the little books before he put them out on the shelf. Got me hooked for sure.

haha! you're about as sane as me. I've blown well over $200 at one time on stacks of little books. It's always easier to buy them all then pick through for the ones you don't have.

Mazooma, great coverage and wonderful photos...as usual. Love the little books too, and I consider them to be the stuff dreams are made of. I still have the ones I bought at Jazzbo's All in One in Chochran, Georgia, when I was a kid. Thanks for the coverage.
