I actually have 2 original sets...Some guys like to take the centers and adapt them to Caddy caps,,,wich look really slick...I've also seen them on some older Buicks too...I've been thinking about selling them to free up some $$$ to finish other project...I will let you know before i put them up on the choppin block...I just sold a set of caps to another one of your members and had a tough time shipping them to him,,,but we ended up working everything out...So if they are something you may be interested in...Send me a pm and we'll work things out....

4. That one is a aftermarket copy of the original 59 Dodge Royal Lancer. Center logo is a little different and the original cap covered the whole rim so only a slight amount of the rim was visable. Had a set of originals on my brand new 60 Impala. [IMG]

Are the reproduction lancers good quality? They seem to be pretty pricey. Just wanted you guy's opinion. later plmczy

Mine are good.
Only problems are the paint in the checkers is peeling off after a year.
And they are heavy, even worse with the bullets added to them. My first 2 monthes of having them, I had 2 fly off driving.
So now I have them hard mounted on.

Take a Fake Knock Off kit from Pep Boys. This bolts to your wheel lugs and sticks thru your wheel. Cut it in half or to the size you need and weld it back together. The top of it has a nut welded to the top of it. I think the nut is the same thread and pitch as the bullets. If not weld the proper nut to the top of the Knock Off kit. Find threaded rod and cut it to the correct length. Pop the center cap off the hubcap.
When you put the hubcap on, the long stud should be sticking thru your hubcap. Take the bullet a screw it on to the threaded stud, which in turns holds the hubcaps on.
Also theft proof. (until now.)

58 olds hubcaps had special clips that only fit '58 olds wheels and are about impossible to find. Those look to be mid 50's mercury caps (about '53-56?) with '59 lancer "crabs" mounted to them. I've got a set of real '57 lancers for sale if anybody needs em.
