I met Larry and Paul at a bike expo in boston years back,,they were hanging out with Billy Lane, I went up to check out Lanes shop truck,, while billy had a line waiting to get their whatever signed,, larry and paul and a few other guys were just hanging out around the side..i said hey larry how aya and he told me to hang out and have a beer with them...so cool. I being a twenty something awstruck wannabe was having a beer with icons and inspirers...so cool.
    Thanks fritz for the post.

That's a great picture, one of my favorites. I think Timothy White took it...didn't he?

Fritz you are a very talented man, thanks for sharing you're photo's of another legend Indian Larry!

  8. We met Larry and Chopper Dave, they were camping in Pearl Hoel's back yard in '92.

We were there interviewing Pearl about Pappy and the Jack Pine Rally for Cl***ic Cycle Review. I'll never forget that day!

The world was a better place with Larry's creations....

    Damn fine post.

People (Ms. Fritz) that can do that kind of video/editing have a special talent.

    Good stuff!

Although I never met or knew Larry, I liked what I saw about him on tv. He seemed like a straight shooting guy. What you saw is what you got. A real man's man. May he rest in peace. By the way, great paint work Fritz...........

Wow, Thank you Carrol & Fritz for the great tribute. I met Larry back in the 80's in jersey and again in Myrtle beach 2004. He was a great down to earth guy that would take time to talk to you. Great paint jobs too Fritz!

In '95 I built Indian Larry a custom Harley rigid for one of his personal rides. I only dealt with him over the phone, but he made me feel like I knew him for a long time. Real down to Earth no B.S. kind of guy. He even sent me a publicity package with his life story and various pictures of him and his buddies riding around N.Y. Back then he was already a celebrity on the East Coast. It's a shame what happened to him. Out of all the T.V. Biker Celebrities he was the real deal!!!!

I don't think there are many old guys sitting around in warehouses of various kinds wishing they had lived MORE conservatively.....slide

    Thanks guys!
I just couldn't let the pics i had sit in a shoe box forever, I figure they are better off on youtube so everyone can see, same reason why I loan my cars to Daryl Starbirds museum. I think Larry would love it if everyone gave him a little nod while they were working on their project out in their shops or garages. Larry & Paul Cox are true mechanical renaissance men

i always like seeing your pictures Fritz. I was a kid in high school drooling over the blue bike you did in Iron Horse. The one that had all the flames on it.

I remember that one a 1951 Pan I built for a guy named Rick in Florida.
It had a spider web belt guard I built about 15 years before Paul Jr. at OCC thought he invented it. I'm sure I boosted the idea from someplace, LOL

I never knew Indian Larry or the cycle scene until the TV show. I got quiet involved and was sadden by his demise. He was a very talented fellow and I know he has been missed by all who knew him.
