From up Washington state way comes the ultimate 70s funny cars "lost & found." Tucked in western WA it is probably best characterized as a "funny car boneyard." Rumored to have up to 15 funny car bodies, inventoried cars include Tom McEwen's "Coors" Corvette (see below, since sold), Mike Miller's Olympia Beer Mustang from the early 80s, Rich Roger's "Miss Debra" Duster from the mid-70s (left picture, far left), So Cal's Clarence Bailey's King "Boogaloo" Cougar (right photo, upper), Kenney Goodell's Mustang from the late 60s (right photo, lower) as well as a complete Camaro and Pinto flopper from the early 70s, misc parts, etc. etc. (Photo at left courtesy of Perry at PF Flyer Racing, & Ralph Reiter)

The wrecked LRW is LRW III, which nearly killed Maverick in a 1969 crash and the other one pictured is the LRW IV, which is currently extant and i think is now at the Garlits museum.

Gee.....I wonder what he used for fuel back in that car's racing days? That has gotta be one of the most overused drag names of all time. Right up there with "NOVACAINE".

The "running " Wagon is not in Garlits Museum. It's not #2. It is #4.
The wreck is #1 + #2 =#3 , He smashed #1 Smashed #2 pop riveted them together to make #3.The one in the museum is a hollow shell with lots of chrome. It was Mavericks driver at one time. Chy gave him one and Bob Regle one. Bob had a slide in camper for his. You see the pic on Ebay sometimes for sale on a red and white truck. I believe the truck became Hemi Express and I have the camper sitting about 40 feet from the Wrecked LRW.
THe wrecked on is attached to a trailer and sits in my shop. It visits Mopar shows from time to time.
    GEORGE!!

Hey Bob, I remember from earlier posts that you used to race in Colorado(?)

Remember Tom Cobb’s old super gas Opel GT?

I saw it for sale with the trailer about 4-5 years ago at Tom's old house. I think the last time it had been raced was '80. Never knew what happened to it after that.

Well last month I was at a shop in Wheatridge Colorado and I saw the Opel sitting in the corner. The new owner is updating it to get it back on the track.

WOW man! wild bill shrewsberrys "Berry Wagon?!!" Right on. How long have you had it? And if you don't mind me asking, how did you get it?? Take it easy.... I have a hot rodding mag somewhere in the garage that has a feature on this ride, they actually take the pictures at the Knott's berry farm amusement park too..

Running Knotts berry farms wheelstander was owned by Rick Marcum in nw washington as recently as a couple of years ago but i was told he recently sold it.Original paint job was long gone and it was black suede and they had removed the panel back to make it look like a pickup.:(

    Hey Pete,
    Ya snooze, ya looze. (G)
Wish I had several of them back. Wait a minute, I forgot, I'm trying to get rid of stuff.
And to keep this post on topic (and to make you Ford guys cry a little) The last time this ran it was with a 425 hp/427 out of a 63 1/2 Galaxie R car.
