I know it's been slow going but she really is ready for paint, meanwhile the dash is done, the headliner and the interior reupholstered though not installed. All the chrome is redone too.

The glovebox was shot so I made a new one out of fiberglass and lined it with felt

I found this amazing mirror on ebay but I think it might be too big.

looks great...the mirror even works since it's so spacey looking. I'm digging the steering wheel and headliner...hell...all of it !

The steering wheel's the stock original restored, the horn ring was broken like they all are on this model so I made one from scratch out of steel and had it chromed, it'll last forever.
The upholstery was done by my old pal Soloman at S&M Upholstery in Kissimmee, it's mindblowingly good.
You can't really see the abalone flake but it really pops in the sun.
Glad you dig it man, it means a lot to me.

My buddy Soloman Mills did the headliner, dashboard cover and the entire interior, I did some small detail stuff.
If I ever sell the mirror it'll be to you Jim.

It runs great, it's staying for now.

  8. Still think a Mazda Miata swap would be cool. But, it's been off the road for so long, time to finish it and get some enjoyment. Between this and the work on Tubbs' car, you are one amazing Kat!

Yeah JT, when it dies it'll be time to move on, having had a Miata (sssshhh, don't tell anyone) I know what a great drivetrain it is.
I know those Kent blocks are getting rare Alex.

Super easy General, just buy sheets of whatever colors you want, cut out to the rough shape with a jigsaw, Dremel, bandsaw or whatever then glue different colors together using special plastic cement, it's super watery. Finally grind and sand to the shape you want, go to finer grades until you get to 600, then polish to a lustrous finish.
You can get scraps on ebay, or from sign shops and plastic sellers.
I think someone on here had a tech walk through a while back with pictures.

Trust me when I say this, it's time consuming but easy, anyone can do it......anyone.

Great work, man. Consul Capris rock. Get that puppy finished! I will say this, though: the mirror might be a bit big. I like it though.

Look at the picture with my son Miles, Packford can be seen in the background. Still got her, still isn't finished, still runs and drives.
