Horrible news...:( That ***hole in the dodge must have really been hauling *** when he hit them. To knock them both out of the vehicle when they were already traveling 50mph?! What a shame...

horrible to hear of such events,i think about stuff like this every time i get in my shoebox.A ten yr old killed, tragic and unessesary

  8. I wonder what the A was? If it had a rear window it would have to be a coupe or Tudor (Most common) Man that would have to be a big hit to eject two people from the vehicle, unless they did not have seat belts.
My sympathy's to the family of the victims.

    Doc.

No charges have been filed? What's with that? I'd say it's at least negligent driving but want to say negligent homicide. That guy should go away.

Exactly what I was thinking.....Failure to control speed

  11. I'm wondering if they were riding in a rumble seat? The report says they were "riding" I believe some one else maybe the grandfather(?) was driving. Very sketchy reporting. Tragic regardless.

So tragic way to much of this latley.

Model A s were not designed for the expressway..........only a fool would drive one there with a child on board....go ahead and flame me but its just my opinion.

My prayers are with the family.

no charges? how do you hit a moving car and knock someone out and no charges filed? it's not like it was stopped in the middle of the road.

I feel that regardless of weather or not it was designed to be on a freeway the driver had his basis covered with the sign in the rear window. The point is that the driver of the dodge was plain and simply out of line and should hang for it,and to call the A's driver a fool is simply a matter of opinion that i do not agree with.I feel that if the car is able to be driven then drive it as you would your pickup,or civic or whatever you have. And as far as the child being with him-well,i take my 4 month old out in the shoe-box all the time.I put in a rear seat belt for the c****at and we just go.And yes i do see the difference in a A and a 50' coupe but my point is that this was tragic regardless of the cir***stances and to fuss about the particulars or the car,the driver,or the p***enger are senseless.Lives were lost for no reason and i sympathies,my God be with the family and good day to all.

  17. No, you're on the mark!
On the expressway, anyone driving slower than 70 is in danger.

not to downgrade a grown man's life but when it's a child I just never want to hear it,
and over possible negligence on the other drivers part, terrible, just terrible. I hope he at least looses a few nights sleep over this.

It's insane, People run up on me and ride my *** all the time in my big *** Edsel. I've had people almost run into me cuz they are looking at my car. People drive around us like were in a Ferrari and we can respond with the snap of the wheel or push of the brake pedal. I hate to think how people are going to be when I'm driving my rpu.!

My car only goes about 50, and I've almost been rear ended on the freeway a couple times. Big trucks are limited to 55 in most places, five miles per hour under the truck LIMIT in the SLOW lane should not a dangerous situation. The problem plain and simply is that some people just haul *** willy nilly not paying attention to what's going on around them.
I don't take it on the freeway anymore, but I should be able to...

they never seem to file charged against these idiots, it said he was doing 50, how do you not see a car right in front of you and run into it while it's moving? my wifes niece was killed in Doerun here, had pulled the truck off to the side to fix the load, and some idiot slammed into her pinning her between the truck and the back of her truck. knocked a full size work truck 150 feet. this was on a little two lane in the middle of doerun,it's 35 and it's hard to go that fast through there.no charges against the driver, yet they say it's her fault for being on the side of the road, with her hazards on. this was in town. didn't matter the other driver must have been flying, not a dam charge.

  22. cut the backfence your car aint safe ****!..bottom line is they were traveling in a legal car on a legal highway in a safeway with all proper markings on said car and someone murdered them.........so if they rearend a amishwagon is it there fault they got hit........charge the driver PAUL DAVIS with a felonyand nail their *** to the wall

A guy in his 70's was killed last week here in Md too. He was driving a 36 Ford and was hit head on by a kid who crossed the centerline.

I bet there is a cell phone call or text message involved, i'm trying to picture how someone could look out that big clear thing called a windshield, and not see the car directly in front of them, then plow right into it, they must not have been looking out the window at all. I'm not a fan of lawyers, but this mans family needs to find a good snake. I could understand this happening by running into a stopped car in heavy rain or fog, because you didn't see it,but plowing into a moving car so hard you knock people out of it?

well that has nothing to do with the car, you could be killed just as easy in a head on with a modern car,air bags or not.

[On the expressway, anyone driving slower than 70 is in danger]
The transportation system we use is a civil system. The minimum speed limit is 45 mph on most expressways. Even though it's annoying as hell when someone goes that slow, it is within the law and other drivers are obligated to be prepared for the situation. Those damned electric cars or jack***es triing to use batteries only with hybrids will make a model A look fast. The guy who rear ended him needs to be charged with whatever the state calls recklesss driving.
On the other hand, these folks who insist on doing expressway battle with 60HP and mechanical brakes are going to cost all of us a bunch of freedom. Same thing for genetic Volvo owners hopping into a 2200 lb car with 400HP and promptly crashing them into nearly wide open space.

60 horsepower will still egt you moving, takes a while to get up to speed, but it doesn't take that much horsepower to maintain it. i had an 81 civic with that much horsepower and it would do eighty easy.

sad story. especially since a child was killed.

while we don't have all the facts about what happened it sounds like seat belts were not involved and could have made the outcome much less tragic.

even if the other car was doing 65, a 15 mph hit could very well have knocked all the doors open causing the people inside to exit the A.

    buckle up.

Most of the stock 20s and 30s cars, even some 40s and 50s cars can't do 80 very well if at all with the gearing and garden shed areodynamics. Thats why we need to hot rod them all.:)
