I am sure that camping is looking like what it would take to make this happen, also a lot of luck. I have a little problem, I have always wanted to got to the salt in my hot rod, just dont know if I could make it. Thanks Denise for the shower offer, do you take numbers or call IT early in the day?

Depends on when you want to take it. If you wait till dinner time you're in line behind me.:D Later in the evening you might get lucky and no one else is in line. If you need a shower in the morning to wake up you can always stop in before you head to the Salt. We're pretty flexible BUT bring your own towel.:D

  3. Ive been wondering what the racer turnout is going to be like this year with the economy like it is.

I'll be crewing during the day, but will perform another guerilla style night time concert this year - hopefully at The Bend.
Had to play in the pits last time, but it was fun.
This'll be the warm up show for the HAMB Drags...

If you don't need a hotel, there is no reason to plan. Take some camping gear and go. We decided to go and left the following day last year.

I remember that night. That was the year I brought eight VW cases and a broken Lenco housing for the bonfire.

That was the week we met for the first time....at the gas station in the middle of nowhere UT when we were both on our way to Wendover. Those were some awesome bonfires that year.:D

I'm flying into Las vegas and driving up to Wendover. Is there anything I "must see" between las vegas and wendover? This is my fourth year at Bonneville.

I want to do a little sight seeing this year. It's cheaper to fly to LV if you have the time to drive up. The first year I went out I drove both ways. I had never been West of the Mississippi, the scenery is just beautiful. If I had the time off I would definate
    ly drive.

I drove north from Vegas once and went thru Death Valley. It was an interesting ride. and the 2 lane out of LV was a good road, too.
I read that rt 50 which is east/west in northern Nevada is worth the trip, too.

    Thanks for the reply, Marcia

So, airfare for two to Salt Lake City, car rental, gas money, sun block, camping gear, camera and we're good to go?

I'm planning to go this year, but I have a few questions.

is camping free at the Bend? going to take camper
what are the rules for spectators at the salt flats?parking-curfew? free?

I've read and searched but haven't found the info I'm asking about.

    Thanks in advance

  24. Never too late to plan to go.

Hell I jumped on my bike in Puallup Washington one year the morning before the speed trials started and was there in time to see the sun come up. By mid day I had made a new friend as was working in the pits.

    Thanks Denise.
I was going to p.m. you because you know everything. Your the reason I'm going, you go all over the country and attend carshows while I look at them online..no more, now its my turn.

is there a HAMB clubhouse or secret handshake I should know about so I can hang out with all the cool people? do we get name tags like the Pileup?

    see you all there,ben

We're going for my bachelor party and there are still rooms in Wendover at the casino resorts at a reasonable rate. Driving down to Vegas at the end of Speed Week...will have to check out Zion if there's time.
