One month till Bonneville speed week...Who's counting days?

Just over a month until Bonneville speed week....Who going and who's wishing they were going?

 

countin' down. Looked at the calender today.
Gears to change in the banjo, flatty to cool, figure out how to haul a bunch of crap .... Not racing, just watching. It'll come down to the last minute for sure.

 

I will either be glad I went, or wishing I went. I guess we will see! It doesn't get hot down there does it?

 

We will be there again.! The plan this year is to blow up the 54 Chrysler hemi with some nitro

I just got the last few things buttoned up on the 53 for the road trip cant wait

 

We're busier than heck.
There are 2 other Roadsters pre-registered in our class, so we'll have to be ready to defend our "title" (record)!
We're in the middle of bending & welding the 16 tubes for the headers, doing the valve job on the new "2 Club" heads, fabricating the sheet metal intake manifold. Quick shop run today to PAW for some bearings and to DEIST to have the chute checked and for a new pair of driving gloves. Some morons were crowding the 134 freeway overpass around the corner from Deist's - apparently waiting for the King of Pop's hearse to arrive . . . need to get outta here . . . see y'all on the salt.

 

I'll be there... my pops and bro are flying out for their first visit to the salt, too!

I'll be there in spirit! One of these years I'll make the trek back to the salt, but it won't be this year.

I'll be going back this year, but unfortunately, not with my hot rod. I'll be flying in from Maryland. But driving my 40 out there is definitely on my bucket list!

 

It's been 5 years for me and I really miss the salt...I am doing everything I can to make it happen. If I make it we'll need to catch up...maybe hit the pool at the 6 at the end of the day with a few brews and some good stories. Who's in?

 

I'm probably there next year, so it's a loooong countdown.

Will be there for sure - #325 D/GRMR. We started the car 2/9/09 and we're still scramblin' to get it finished. Wind tunnel tomorrow! Wish I could be there, but unfortunatly due to the economy and no job I won't be able to make it. I do look forward to seeing Denise again as she passes thru here on her trip back home.

We have been about 235 MPH so far, the record is up around 245!

I know alot of people think Bonneville is just a big party BUT, there is alot of work, stress & dedication by everyone involved fron inspectors to particpants for a safe run !
Here a special inspector comes to our pit area for an indepth safety check.


No detail is left unchecked. A close eye could save a life!


A good swift kick to make sure everything is O.K.


At last, everyone is happy with inspection, Let's go racing!!!

I WISH, and after seeing the saftey crew.........well.

 

This will be my seventh year in a row at Speedweek! Gotta get my annual salt fix!
