will try to get some up ! have a tall tokheim 39 that i am restoring right now , going with the gilmore gasoline colors -decals as that is my last name !
These pics are too cool. Here is a pic of my one and only pump I bought on vacation for only 65.00 I know its not much but is still looks cool in front of the shop
yeah, yeah i know. the pumps on the lower left. Its signed by boyd, and duane. He was real cool to us at goodguys indy some years back. Seemed like an alright guy. Rip.
I live in kansas and there are alot of small farm towns here. Gas pumps used to be a dime a dozen! Now they are just about like dust in the wind, unless you want to pay crazy prices
Here are a few for you guys to check out. The red/white Mobile is my 40's era Gilbarco that I restored. The others are just random road side pumps. Picked up a 60's era Erie pump recently at a farm auction. It was still hooked up and working till the day we took it home. The old farms are the places to score old gas pumps in this neck of the woods. Just recently saw another local farmer pull a 50's era pump off it's base and replace it with a modern pump. That one was still working too.
Restored Texaco side pump 15 years ago with motion detector, at night Texaco globe comes on for 3 minutes when detector is activated---Kinda cool!!!--------------Don
heres the one in front of my shop I restored over ten years ago, just now starting to look the way it should, makes a great yard lite out here in the desert
I won this Gas Pump at the High Desert Vintage Tin, Fun Run in Victorville, Ca. a few years ago. Dennis
Not as old as most in the thread, but I thought it was cool. It was on my great grandfathers farm that has become somewhat of a graveyard for old and busted farm equipment. I was leaning over a huge roll of rusted barb wire to get the shot so thats why it is a little of angle, but I think it still came out real good. There were also probably 15 old engines from the well pumps just hanging out in piles around the place. I am going to get this and a few others pics that I took at the farm and frame them up for my office.
Google images has quite a few if you need refrence pics, have restored a few with the refrence pics type in antique gas pums. Had a customer the other day that is in the process of buying some land and has an old gas station on it, all the old pumps are supposed to be inside, still waiting for the update on that, hope its true.
Heres one that takes up too much space in the shop that I restored. A Tokheim, originaly a GULF now a MOBIL.
I don't have any pics, but I know of about 4-6 unrestored that may be for sale in Hampshire IL. PM me and I can give you directions.
