Wow, talk about fun! I wish I was able to do this instead of a truck and trailer all the time.

All this and no pancake breakfast?! ;)

Couldn't agree more with this!! Nothing more that I need when I'm travelling. Well, maybe a cool beverage once we hit the destination...

Can't wait to get home and see the pics. Damn work blocks 'em!

    Thanks Megan,

It's nice to "tour" the show that I was AT but was too busy to see! Kinda surreal to see my driver in with all the rods too.

Fantastic story. Another great post Megan. I can not wait to read part 3. Thanks for sharing. Even my wife was impressed and is considering doing a long tour in an old car after reading your posts. I just have to get the right old car because she won't do it in the RPU.

  7. Thanks again for the post and the pics, it's probably the closest I'll ever get to seeing the LA Roadster show...

Hey Megan, I see you really enjoyed those "Headlite Stickers"!!----That was my idea back in 1972 when we were a one day show & swap at Great Western in City of Commerce. Back then, the engraved English pewter mugs were just as coveted then as they are now!
My wife & I were running the registration & I came up with the idea of sticking a small dime sized round green sticker on the left headlite with same number as you registered with, & in order to recieve your mug at 4PM, you had to produce your sticker & put it on next to your name on the list. This not only insured against mugs in bogus hands, but made it a lot simpler to speed up the line (back then 80-85 in show) It was LAR policy to make sure each exhibitor recieved his mug BEFORE any LAR member would get his.
There were always some stragglers that did not pick up their mugs, so using my registration form, I would mail the mug to that address, that seemed to work out any problems previously concerning mug distribution that I headed up until 1984.
Just a little LAR history, I thought you might enjoy about the stickers!!!-------Don

    Thanks for....bringing us along.
For a Pacific NW'nr who works weekends. I sure must be a ' trip of a lifetime '.
Pt. 1 & 2, were awesome. Pt. 3, sounds like an adventure in itself.
Thanks for sharing a fresh viewpoint & less drama narration..
    Best to you both ,
