  4. My grandpa used to have a dairy about 5 miles inland from Long Beach, CA. He said he could ride his horse there in a few minutes. I bet thats what it looked like back then. He was a street racin farm guy from so cal in the early 60's. These pics help me picture it now. He had a '60 Pontiac Catalina with a 389 and 3 twos, Chrome Reversed wheels, jardine headers, no hood, or front bumper. He had dyno Don Nicholson tune on it too. I'd love to find that car!!!!!! That'd be an heirloom!

    It wasn't just WW2.

Tin Can (Bolsa Chica) was still covered with litter and, yes, cans, in the 1960s when I began surfing there.

Any serious HB locals remember Hot Water Pipe?

Am I the only one who thinks that the city ruined the cliffs by turning it into Bacteria Beach (dog beach)?

I surf the flats, and park my car on PCH just like always.
    Times don't have to change.
An every-day driven 1966 car with 700 horsepower, Alohas, and a fresh Mr. Zog's melt ruining the new OPG carpet kit tells it all for me.
Everything's still the same from my side of the windshield.

  17. When we first moved down to FL from MI in '77, we lived across the street from this park... As kids we used to ride our bikes over there. It was my mom's favorite place and it's where we held her memorial a few years ago.

  18. Nothing like a toasty tire fire.
