I welded some 3/16" flat bar to the fender to form the lip then trimmed it so that if stuck out about 1/2" past the fender. I then used medium strand body filler to smooth it out.

Heres mine, it may not qualify for this thread.

Conduit tubing was used for the wheelwells.

I've always liked this picture of my buddy Paul painting the name on the car.

Here's a really clean looking Gasser from the 60's

And Here's a couple of Erik Carlson's "Far Beyond Driven" 55 (I think I got these two from the Gasser Madness site) I love this car, it ran in the nines it's first time out.

Here it is at Sears Point for sale in 1995 for $3700.00. Would have bought it that day had I not been 3000 miles from home.\
What a great piece of drag Racing history.

That seems like a very good price, even if it did not run.

My memory is fading but as I recall, lots of them 55's were bright yellow and looked great in that color. Didn't they mostly run that reverse scoop molded into the hood?

[IMG] Hi Guys this is my WILD 55. I have owned her for over 39 years. Just finished getting wild back on the road after 28 years of setting.
    Cool thread Thanks

I decided to not radius my quarters. Tires are a little wide for "nostalgia" but I like the way it looks. Running 8.5" wide wheels in the back and I didn't have to tub it. Just moved the springs in board. Good luck with your project and please share pics of it as you go.

Grizzley Peak Drive. Been there many times. Watched "Laserium" from up there in about 1979 (think: "Wheel in the Sky" done to laser light over San Francisco). Great view. Nice car too--love the stance and the wide slots.

Tires aren't too wide if you're in the c1970 time period.
