The car is back on a trailer. Last night Davina (my wife) and I went to a friends for dinner. On our way back I had to face some rail road tracks but could not catch it at the right angle because of oncoming traffic. I slowed down to about a 1 MPH just inching over these things because I knew the trans cross member would catch if I wasn't careful. I heard it catch but since I was going so slow I figured that it would s****e a bit then I would be on my way.

3 mins later went something like this.

    Davina: What's that sound?

Me: It's the purr of the engine baby, don't it sound great!!

Davina: No it sounds like a tapping or air being puffed out.

    Me: Oh ****!!!!

I looked down at the oil pressure gauge and immediately heard the clicking. I was down to Zero oil pressure!!!

I ripped a hole in the pan which led all of the oil to spit out. Engine seems fine. When we pulled over to the side of the road another 1.5-2 quarts of oil came out which leads me to believe that there was enough in there that no damage was done. None the less, I am without the roadster once again. I am going to try to weld this ****er up and either put a skid plate in or raise the front (or back) up an inch.

Not a big problem but it's annoying because I have other **** to focus on right now instead of this car. The '36 is really sounding nice now a days!!!

Olds? I was thinking a 4-71 on top of that 331 Chrysler!!!!!!

It should be up and running by the weekend hopefully. Then expect to see it in the cl***ifieds the week after. Need something a little less low and a little more '36 Five window. Hahahah!!!

Wow that looks cool either way JJ! You had any problems with that steering setup.... everyone told me mine was too low like yours and that I'd have a problem??

    I've got a 471 I'll let go pretty cheap... :D

No problems with the Steering Chaddilac. The posi sort of pushes through corners but nothing out of hand. I think about that 4-71 haha but I think I should focus on some other things besides this car right now.

Good I'm glad to hear that... I was a little worried about my steering. Do you have a dampener or panhard bar on there? I guess I've never looked at your frontend?

From from the best of my knowledge the steering box is a '39 Chevy. The box mounts through the frame and OG pitman arm is connected to a drag link with a generic steering arm probably speedway. There is neither a dampner or a panhard from what I know. Steering is sloppy when the 3 bolts work their way loose. The only known problem is the car requires constant correction.

After a few side tracks the car is running again like top. Hopefully some of you Western New York fellers will see it it up there tomorrow thru Sunday so if you see me say hello!

Welded up Oil Pan that turned out pretty good.
New Carb because the old one had a Crack in it.
I need to run a cleaner looking fuel line to the carb still.
All new Wheel Cylinders at each end.

I should have it bled and on the road my mid day today. I am going to skip out of work and ******knuckles is going to come over and help me with that.

We also have a skid plate in the works so that I would get hung up on rail road tracks as I did. I think it's going to turn out pretty cool. I also plan on hiking the car up a bit in the back to compensate for the thinkness of the skid plate.

I also need to really look into Chroming the front end as well as the rear spring. But that probably will wait till the winter.

Just in case anybody was wondering.

Last weekend for the 4th of July I headed up to Buffalo with my '26 to visit my family. y brother pretty much commandeered my car for the entire weekend and drove it around. I actually enjoyed watching someone else have fun with the car and it really gave me a new love for it.

Here are some pics of him taking my Nanna (Shirl the Bird) for a little run to go get some iced coffee. Thought they were pretty cool.

This is one of the craziest theads i have seen so far! You had a perfect T, most people would loved to have that car the way it was on the first page BUT something about it not being your car made a 9 page circus out of it. Now its starting to look like eveybody elses T. My father and i built a T back in the early 70s. We used a Ford Falcon as a donor car. Straight 6 an oval T tank on back. But everyone else had a V-8 Chevy and a short bed.So in time I Changed ours to look like all the rest. I just liked yours the way it was!

He lives in Elma but we grew up around William near Harlem. Actually he pretty much grew up on Delavan and East End but all the same. He knows your car so I am sure that the two of you guys see each other around with out knowing it.

I wished I could have met up with you guys. It pretty crazy seeing how I havn't seen my family in a couple years so I had those obligations. Next time for sure!!!

What would have been awesome is if I would have taken that trade for the 180" wheel base rat that you offered and had her do a burnout in that. :D:D

I would have added a pic of me taking my Mom, Aunts or Nanna for a ride but nobody could figure out how to use my camera. So a pic of my brother will have to do.

Yeah Scooter, the car definitely does have something a bit more special about it now. I'll keep it around I think!
