It's a really nice place. Austin is definitely our hot rod city though, I'm up north by Ft. Worth.

Not sure if it's still this way, but Houston used to be pretty hoppin' too. At least when I was in school (late 90's), there was a very active "scene" in the city. Every Friday and Sat. the hooligans would take over Westhiemer, parts of the Beltway, and the boondocks on the west side of town.

There was the 10 minute club (looping 610 in 10 minutes or less, mostly bikes) and race to the seawall...

Fun stuff but I'm sure that the police have tightened the screws by now.

  3. OK, I'll shut up after this: Was on a Southwest flight a few years ago and smelled smoke while taking off. After the plane was level, a guy walked out of the ****pit with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. A p***enger said something about it as he walked by to go to the bathroom. His reply? "This is my plane"...It was Herb. On another flight the attendant finished her safety demonstration with "Now fasten your safety belts cause' we're fixin' to go real real fast".

I can agree with the hunting and football (yes I was born and raised her also), but come on....Pepsi?
My current daily is one of the only stock suspension vehicles I have ever owned. Everything I have has has always been lowered, I don't know maybe I am getting old, but I like the soft ride of this one. Or maybe it is just that I spend alot of time in it.

My daily is a pretty heavily dropped truck, it rides like ****. But it looks good doing it.

Rarely will you find a beer in my hand that is not a Shiner Bock. There's nothin' finer...

Tech week must be over :p

Since we're all on the subject of TX beverages,...I've seen throughout my travels across the Red River, many an ol' Texan pouring a tube of peanuts into his Pepsi??

    WTF is that about?

Are you sure you actually crossed the Red River? Any Texan knows that the peanuts in the Coke thing is only properly done with a Dr. Pepper or a Coca Cola. Pepsi? Nahhhh...

Don't knock it til you try it, but if you do, try it with a Dr. Pepper. Bonus points if you use "Tom's" brand peanuts and a Dublin Dr. Pepper...there ain't much better than that.

Also on the subject of Texas beverages...if you've never tried a Frostie Root Beer, you owe it to yourself to do so. Frostie is based out of Temple, TX....my favorite root beer, bar none.

Never had a lone star but a fresh shiner from a cold tap finishes so clean and tasty, not like most beer in nebraska that sat in the liquor houses unrefrigerated before it went to the store.

They still make Lone Star in Texas? We all give up on 'em when they left San Antonio...Shiner Bock ain't bad, but Shiner Blonde tastes more like ole time Shiner from 50 years ago when it was illegal (at least for me, wink wink).[IMG]

I do believe Shiner is indeed the true National beer of Texas...WHY well Lone Star was owned and brewed in Texas but not any more, it is owned by Pabsts which is in partnership with Miller and is still brewed by Miller and IMO has gone down hill to the budget beer level, I know I used to drink it back in the day.

Shiner has several styles of brew, Shiner Bock is their best selling beer, but their Blonde and Black could stand up to any beer here or Europe IMO.

I am for anything made here in Texas and despise the large corporations with their take overs and sell outs, cutting quality to save a buck.

got to now stop I fill a rant coming on......
