I saw this 30's ford 1/2 buried with a tree growing through it today. The owners are antique car people and bought the car to bury 30 years ago. They planted a young pepper tree that is now growing through the roof and rear window.

I've seen other rusty parts decoration yards and have even seen motor parts sticking out of the brick fireplace in a living room. What have you seen?

Damn Thats Cool. Thats been there awhile. Don't think the wife would see it the same way though. Be a new meaning of sitin in the shade would make me want to get into the shop.

  4. What a friggin waste! I'll never understand restorers. I guess 30 years ago these "antique car people" were saving it from a fate worse than death, becoming a hot rod. If you ask me anyone who'd do that on purpose are not car people at all. I can't believe no one has stolen the doors or firewall in 30 years.

30 years ago it was "too far gone" to restore...and rodders may have even parted it out The roof header would have "helped" someone hammer a lid, etc.
Fast forward to today and it's "buildable" (same as old jalopy bodies, rust buckets, etc.).

    Things have really changed.

The car was at best a parts car when they got it, it was already rusted through and not a good candidate to restore.

I can't believe some of you. Get a life. Most of you wouldn't come up with $500 for that thing if it was available today. Notice I said come up with the money. I recognize some of you as your always saying , "that thing is worth thousands" when you haven't a clue, other than a couple of photos. Internet chest t******* at it's best.

    I've seen worse.
There's a family in my hometown that every Christmas puts out their "restored" cars in the yard and tapes a ****load of lights to them.
They then leave the cars out in the snow and cold with the lights d****d all over blowing around and scratching the cars for a month or more.

That '33-'34 would make a good nostalgia dirt car at best. Other than that, looks good where it is. And those factory aluminum heads are dime a dozen. Look on ebay.

    Great display.

Take a look at that sheetmetal. Aside from the tree damage it ain't THAT rusty. I see guys start with worse metal on here all the time and you can bet it looked a lot better when they parked it. Just goes to show, they were nuts 30 years ago. What a terrible waste.

Waste of a '34. There is plenty of parts saveable on her.

  26. Yeah, in 20 years people will say this was buildable. I don't give a **** now, and I'm sure I won't then! I get way more enjoyment out of this than the 25 bucks I spent for it. What gets me is the number of people that go into my yard and don't even notice it.

Looks cool to me just where it is. With the amount of work it would need to restore that one you could build a new one with a hammer and tin snips and still be waaay ahead on labor:rolleyes:
