    First Monza - BB/FC.

The paint on this car was un believable. The airbrush work almost life like. If you look close in the color pics you can see that the car was green at the front and faded over the whole car to end up blue at the back.

There are pics of this body with "the Hawley Family" lettered on it. The captions of the pic I've seen say that it was Frank Hawley's first FC. I've asked but I can't get a good reliable answer on the details...

    Second Monza - 538 C.I. KB - BB/FC.

This was the only car to ever be involved in an incident. Sharon, Penn. 1/8 track, new track record, out the back door, no chute. Launched off a banked turn off (old road), flew a looooong way, came down sideways through a forest. Fixed and at Edgewater 4 days later.

Great pics although I would guess the two center pictures are 1968. It looks like Hubert Platts 68 Mustang and Dave Kanners in Prontito B/G 57 Corvette. It looks like how Kanners ran the car in 68. I do not believe he was running this car past 69.-Jim

That would make sence. I'm thinkin' that this is the same car. The gold/closed front being the worked over version of the other. Earlier timeframe would support that. Here's another clue..??..Ken Clark..??..

Supposedly this car was someone else's from around here - a guy in Canada bought it - had the old man do work on it - and drive it - don't know how long, or why......

    Thank you but,

FWIW I can assure you that none of these are "my" shots. I do not take any credit for taking these pics.

I know that some people get overly exercised over attribution, And I feel that they have that right.

My intention in posting these pics is to help the community that I grew up in, and those that still enjoy it, to keep it alive, at least in these pics, and any information that I can remember.

I am at the beginning of processing (scanning and digitising) what is in the closet. Sorry if I step on some bodies toes. I just didn't think it helped anyone to keep stuff in the closet if it could help someone or answer anyone's questions.

Cars are not just cars - someone lived in them...

Man, a blown "mastadon" and an 88-inch wheelbase. I'll bet that was an exciting ride!
