I love old B horror flicks but this one is extra cool with all the rods and old cars. Anybody know anything about this movie or stories behind the cars? It was filmed in Texas, maybe some of the old cars still around?
If you every get a chance check out the movie Fandango with Kevin Costner, there are some great Texas quotes... Gardner Barnes (KC) to his northern cl***mate... " Texas is wild always has been and always will be Philip" Philip: Texas is really ugly, you know. I mean, what could anyone possibly like about this state? Dorman: I like the way it's shaped.
...and that's why I'm coming back, see you guys in a month or so, just gotta' find a job or a better price for plasma...
Lone Star, Dude you have got to check the web site. Find one near you, run don;t walk, and get there as quick as you can. You'll love it. No menu just two things to chose from. Chicken fried steak or fried chicken. Served homestyle and with all the t*******s. They really put a good scald on the chicken! Be prepared to wait to get in though. Particularly on Sundays!~
Actually they now have bbq ribs, friend catfish, and roast beef I think. But I still only get the chicken or the fried steak.
Hell there is one in Garland thats 5 minutes from me. Looks like they have pineapple upside down cake too. Im puttin on the running shoes and the stretchy pants right now. Lets do this!
Some yankee relatives came down to visit us from the north and we didn't have a lot of room. We told them they could just sleep on pallets in the living room. When I first met my wife she told me that when starting her 57' Ford post (312") to "Mash down on the foot feed a couple a times when she's cold"....worked on her too.
Texas, never been there but the people sure seem nice. That heat just isn't for humans though, but texans seem to like it I sure do like the Dallas Wayne Texas music show every Saturday night on Outlaw Country(Serius Sattelite radio).
Ya the heat can **** sometimes. Particularly when it is 102+ and the humidity is above 92%. So far it has been above 100 for the last two weeks +/-. But the humidity has been low. Keeps the old cars from rusting but plays hell on any type of rubber parts. Paint bakes right off as well.
It's been 106 the last couple days, but today was nice and cool at 95. It's pretty rare for the humidity to be that high around here, unless it just rained or something. It was 110 in the shop the other day... still tolerable.
