Jean -Paul Cabana, checking his tires. HE still races today, and operates a driving school, and ia the on track announcer at Autodrome Granby.

Not sure who this car was driven by-I should have taken notes or close-ups

Looking at the display board I can see it ran at Utica-Rome

I was looking again at this picture of Bob Stefanik in the 20 car. Is it the same car as the 92? When did it become the 20 car? Was it a Czarnecki Bros owned car (their number was 20? This was at Riverside Park. Thanks, Barry

Here is the Rebel Speedway in 1960, the stands you see here are still in use today(but some have now been moved to turn 1).

    from MA.

    Hello Barry,
The #20 and the #92 were two different cars. The #20 cars were owned and built by the Czarnecki Brothers of Westfield, Ma. and the #92 was owned and built by Leo Matte in West Springfield, Ma. The body and paint man "Jake" did both cars thus the similarity. There were a number of 20's and 92's built over the years and some went on to new owners with new paint and numbers. Bobby Stefanik was one of the drivers of the #20 and Jap Membrino, Jack Lecuyer and a few others wheeled the #92. I still see Jake regularly and he is very knowledgeable regarding that period of racing at Riverside. Bob

Bob, can you please tell me how to get a hold of Jake (my email is bkhrs@sbcglobal.net). I own the 92 car and Tony Membrino told me to get a hold of Jake but he didn't have any contact information. I'm trying get more history on the car. I also own a Czarnecki Brother car that Jack Lacuyer drove (the one with the roof vent). I haven't been able to get contact information for them either. I really appreciate the help.

    Thanks Barry

  16. Good stuff guys. Buildy, I get to see Freddie's car here at the Old Timer's Meet every year. Freddie was a really stand up guy.

  30. Guys have to see Charlie Jarzombek's 1st car The Bug, debut last night at Riverhead Raceway. I was blown away by the sound of this thing, 4 pipes on each side, I was surprised how loud this car was! It also looks like it can go!!! I'll some video of it on the track along with the off-set coupe, Fred Harbach's Pinto coupe and the last car he drove, the night he won the championship too boot! Also The Monza of Lew Hennesey, also on hand was the debut of Williamsburg car driven by Greg Sacks and Charlie J.
You have to do a little searching through the photo galleries but it's worth it!!!
