Event Coverage KKOA Salina KS, it's getting closer...

should be a bunch, have had calls about meeting at the coliseum at 10:00. looks like 5-6 from my house that morning, will probably get alot more afters Rocky's gig on Wednesday night.

 

We could easily end up with twenty to thirty in the convoy. Between
both of our groups We already have 12.....Kool!!!!

That's a really loooo-ooooong two day drive from Cali...that means you won't get to Salina til late Friday nite or early Saturday...you should lock the doors tonite and leave on Wednesday...

yea it was a last minute thiung realy couldnt take the time off work to drive

Hope to be in the group with Yblock292. Looking forward to being in such a big group going up. Should be fun. Does anyone know the rules as far as what safety equipment you need to be able to run at the drag strip?

As long as you can see over the steering wheel and keep the car straight you won't have any issues.....seriously.

Line up with someone, pull up to the start line, even with passengers in you car, and go when the guy in the center drops his arms.

 

The city is erecting a "safety" fence to keep people back this time. Might be that orange plastic stuff, not sure.

 

Like that is going to keep a car from hitting spectators.

I'm taking off early on Friday so that I can be at the drags for a little longer. Hopefully I can get some good video of the racing action this year

 

I think its more an issue of keeping some intellectually impaired spectators from getting too close to the action, the police had to tell some folks last year to stay back a few times.

 

True, and would also keep a young child from running away from mom and dad and dashing in front of a car coming back from it's run.

I stayed over for Sunday last year and they still had a good number of cars on Sunday.
We will be leaving early Sunday morning to beat the heat....

I've said it for years one of these days I want to get up there for your dads cook out. Needless to finish what I'm about to say we aint gonna make it this year(again) Sorry guys... Eat a burger for me Jr.

They give out the awards on Sunday about mid day or so. Lot of people stay for that.
