rockabilly was a very brief period in american musical history
the rebellion, rawness, and excitement will never be recreated ever,
no matter how vintage your clothes are or what kind of grease you use
in your hair, its about the music and i aint heard nobody move me yet.

All the stuff that was playing on X-Rock 80 back in the day, they had the station in the states and the transmitter was accross the border, Ajo I think. Or really late night out in the Arizona desert headed for Vegas listining to KOMA-"Night Watch", out of Oklahoma city, the jock that did the station ID's and bumpers (voice-over shit between songs) had the fucking VOG (Voice of God), that was the shit, cool jocks (DJ's)-the Beatles, Doors, Donovan, Janis, Hendrix playing the music out of that magic little box in my dash.........makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. AM radio before Flush Limbaugh, the real deal. Back in the days when corporations made cars, and people owned radio stations. Van Morrison said it all, "Take me back....take me way, way back....." The church of rock-n-roll baby.

I love the hard stuff, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Godsmack, Pantera, Damage Plan, Marilyn Manson, Black Sabath, etc. I do like some of the more tame stuff as well, ZZ top of course, Nickelback, Seether, Staind. I do on occasion listen to 50's and 60's rock as well. There is nothing like the look you get when someone is checking out the Caddy and then realizes it is not an old fart listening to dowop but a younger guy cranking "Cowboys from hell" by Pantera driving by slowly, gotta love it!

The silence of my factory radio delete plate. It keeps me civil while driving. Motley Crue cranked up seems to affect my mood and makes my driving, shall we say, more aggressive, and is partly responsible for spending a night in jail and making the 10:00 news many years ago.
