A guy by the name of Bob Pringle used to own a replica of the #92.Bob owned a couple car dealerships in the Lebanon, NH area I believe as well. Last I knew he still had the car and he ran it with either the New England Antique Racers or the Senior Tour Auto Racers, can't remember which.

A couple pictures of cars that ran at Riverside Park in Agawam, Ma. and the start of a modified race from the Eastern States in West Springfield 1967.
Those were the the Good Old Days!!

  10. Okay guys, time to go on a little fields trip this week!!! Go to my site, go to Bench Racing and click this weeks "Bench Racing Highlights and Awards" You will get goosebumps!!! The very 1st car that started this thread, has debuted this past weekend, restored and back to glory!!! I got goosebumps listening to The Bug drive past me on the hill before hitting the track!!! It is under Bench racing with Erin Dumicich aka Baby Smooth.

OK...granted its not vintage, but I did my best with what I had, and our rules, to come up with this... This was taken Saturday July 18, 2009 at Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon Nevada. We call them Rat Mods.

The body is the quarters and roof from a 65 Chevelle....complete with door handles and tail lights...frame is also a later model Chevelle turned into a straight rail frame. Louie Miranda 21m

Unfortunately RichI can't recall a last name on the guy but I think you're dead on as far as him being from Islip Terrace.

On a slightly different note I went to the LI Antique Power association show out on the North Fork this weekend and 3 of Charlie Jarzombeks restored cars were on display. The story was that Ricky had just recently finished working on "The Bug". Not a lot of detail in the pics but it definitely shows some creativity and innovation in it's design. I know the Bullfather has video posted but I think pics are nice too.

  16. Brought to you by Grumans, LOL. No wonder Charlie J's cars flew so low.

Rich, the Kid's site is coming along isn't it? From what my assistant says from the readings on mine when I hat her check his, he's getting hits from everywhere and lots of them.

Wanna buy some DVDs? LOL I was never as big as he is though. It's just you recalling my stature in the Rodding arena that makes you think I was that size. ROFLMAO!
    Have a good one RicHie.

Brian, thanks for posting those nice, clear pics of the white mods. That will be a big help for a future model build. Love those clean detail shots.....

  21. Brain if you got those, you have to have all the other old modifieds that were there that day!!! There were a few of them there!!!

I hate to admit it but I ended up only shooting Charlie's cars. I was more interested in the Bugatti and some of the engine displays. You're right though........there was some nice old tin there. I did shoot this one though.

Bonjour, kids! Just dropped in to enjoy the photos of the NON-MODIFIEDS! Hmmnnn....I don't see anyone complaining about THESE...

  27. The Blue 18 is Freddie Harbach's, the same guy that owned the White Pinto and the Caviler or whatever it was in the video at Pete's site. A nicer guy you never met.
