Here are some pics of the lions share of the JR/F cars at the nostalgia drags from Tulsa earlier this month.

I went to NZ in the mid '90s for a holiday and thought i'd checkout this famous old 'strip when i was passing through the town. What i found were herds of sheep and cows from the startline to about 1000ft. No kiddin'. I wonder if the Kiwis new quarter mile racing was unsafe before the NHRA did.:D
Doc, is that a Datsun 180B in the opposite lane?

What ever happened to 'waydar'? He was the original owner/driver of the Temptation and contributed greatly to the following thread, then abruptly stopped. I hope his health is ok.

Ahhh, the exact location where I'd spend my saturday nights after I was finally old enough to get a "photographers pass"!!! Standing inbetween the track and the fire-up lane...had to be on your toes!!!!!!!
That snack bar served only In-N-Out Burgers....

At the time my family and I lived in Azusa. When I couldnt get my dad to take me to the drags, I would hang out in the front yard and hear the fuel burning cars run. The sound waves would reverberate off the adjacent rock quarry walls.

  29. Skip, I saw what Doug saw, from both sides of that fence. That was truly a magical place. Though some would say not, it's sad to think all they do there now is make beer.

  30. Well it could be worse, they could be making Toyota's. At least it's Beer :D
