Hot Rods 55 Nomad

Seen this trditional looking 55 Nomad at a show today.
Crusty old paint,blue windows,no door panels, "fenderwell headers"


then I looked under the hood



wtf?

 

aww what a weak*****.

 

If the "WTF" is for the battery, I hear ya. But Nomads don't have big trunks to put the battery in so maybe he hasn't solved the alternate battery location yet? But yeah, that battery looks like hell in the stock location.

WAIT! I just saw the fake headers! LAME!!! Oh man, that is so lame.

 

When I worked at Gratiot Auto Supply, we had a kid come in and buy two velocity stacks,.. next time we seen him he had bolted them to his hood,......

Now that's a new one. What's next, straight axles clamped to the centerlink to try and hide IFS?

And considering Nomad prices, even for*****ty ones, this one is just a damn shame.

 

Why open the hood?

 

Dad sold his 2 or 3 years ago. He used it to pull his drag car. I about cried when it left, it might have been in pieces, but it was a damn nice car. Love to build one but to damn high to buy.

 

Honestly real fenderwell headers would not have detracted from the value. A wise restorer once said to me, "Its only metal, get your flaming hatchet and buzzbox and fix the damn thing to your liking." Enough said.

As far as those fakes it probably took longer to put them on then real fenderwell headers would have. On the other hand I have seen many bolt ons that have had no performance value at all or aesthetics but to make the owner happy with his ride. To each his own.-Weeks

 

well now i have seen everything! all he needs now is the fake injection over his intake, or maybe he should just bolt a blower to his hood.

 

If it was Canadian it would still have the snow tires on ......

 

Just proves that there is room for everybody in this sport. Just some need a little more room than others, thats all.

The guy probably had his hood open thinking he might start a new trend,Yikes .Like someone else here said what's next a blower scoope bolted to the hood? He must be proud of what he did to open the hood.Oh well as long as he is happy that is really all that matters.He did get you to come get a closer look!LOL.

Started laughing first but then thought OMG!!! He could actually add the blower. Somebody needs to rescue that Nomad, . Looks like GAK!
